Objective of function : -

  • Supervise a small team of MI specialists, responsible for the development, management and maintenance of MI and data analytics for Financial Crime & Fraud Prevention (FC&FP) for Retail-Belgium covering Legal Entities and Personal Individuals clients, within the Data & Analytics team in ING Hubs Philippines. We are looking for a natural born inspirer and motivator whose passion and energy helps to get the best out of his/her colleagues. The successful candidate will manage via efficient work allocation, monitoring of work, based on data and facts, and steer pro-actively towards output and continuous improvement. Additionally the successful candidate should be convincing, strong in problem analysis and judgment, creative in solutions and see giving and receiving constructive feedback as important conditions for good cooperation. Must be customer oriented and takes the customers’ needs in everything as a starting point. Altogether, the successful candidate must be able to find the right balance between cost, quality, control and customer satisfaction.
  • Delivery of production MI reporting and timely of unique reports.
  • Engaged in querying multiple internal and external data sources using a variety of database reporting tools.
  • Support any questions raised by end-users with knowledge and research of any discrepancies found in the data.
  • Ensure that the integrity and dependability of data for analytical purposes are processed, cleansed and verified
  • Create and present reports that detail the findings, recommendations and solutions
  • Individuals at this level have advanced database skills and a good technical understanding of reporting systems and data sets used by the Customer Domain Unit (CDU) Group. (See Appendix B for detailed summary)

Job level description : -

  • Has limited to extensive level of experience in managing people. Responsible for 60-50% production work and for directly supervising the work of MI Specialist staff. Forms the link between the team and management and is accountable for team plans, resource allocation and work processes and procedures. Decisions are guided by resource availability and functional targets and objectives. Acts as a coach for the team members and is responsible for the development of the team. Is a key driver for optimizing the processes in the team and operations management. Has a proven proficient level of the processes and products and understands the process environment to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Employees in this level provide detailed and comprehensive support/expertise to a specific area of the business by taking on responsibility for tasks of an organizational, process or operational nature.
  • Requires in-depth experience and a high (advanced or expert) proficiency knowledge level in several aspects of a process.
  • Understands the complex process environment to ensure maximum efficiency.
  • Provides detailed and comprehensive support/expertise to 1 or more areas of business by taking on and being responsible for associated organizational/ operational/process management tasks.
  • Delivers, within a broad and integrated environment, high-quality (custom) solutions for the processing of standard products/files.
  • Is considered as a specialist in a number of processes/products (high risk related) and usually works on a day-to-day basis in an environment of a medium level of complexity with minimal supervision.
  • Has knowledge of the latest developments in the internal market and integrates this knowledge into day[1]to-day activities.
  • Reports deviations to the appropriate person/body. Understands the mission and vision of the company and has the ability to integrate this in day-to-day activities or as input for projects.
  • Acts in line with ING rules and policies and monitors compliance with these regulations.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in other departments to improve business outcomes

  • Design custom tools to optimize data mining, cleaning, validation and analysis tasks
  • Responsible for executing statistical methods to solving specific business problems
  • Responsible for the construction of customer-facing reporting tools to provide insights and metrics which track forecast
  • Responsible for the accurate exploration of internally and externally sourced data to search for unseen insights and correlation
  • Responsible for data management for constructing analytic systems
  • Ensure that the models are well developed, tested, trained, and implemented

  • Staffing and succession planning. Know how to have the right people at the right time at the right place, which means anticipating on the attrition via active succession planning in the team and by hiring new staff.
  • Performance transparency - lead courageously. Create transparency and promote performance. Understands and consistently applies Step Up Performance Management (planning, coaching, review and appraisals) and has continuous conversations with all MI Specialists within the team.
  • Personal ownership – be a role model. Is living and breathing the Orange Code. Owns actions and outcomes. Delegates frequently and effectively, yet is still responsible for the overall agenda
  • Ensure knowledge of banking products and operational processes is captured and documented in work instructions and procedures.
    • Ensures that knowledge of banking products and operational processes is recognized and documented in work instructions and procedures. Does this for complex products and projects.  Also, Analyze process related problems and suggest possible solutions/improvements.

Service Delivery :-

  • Execution. Daily coordinates and monitors all short-term tasks and activities to be executed in accordance with the Service Level Agreement’s, KPI’s and applicable procedures. The tangible outcomes of the execution will be visible on short-term. Set priorities.
  • Solve problems and act as point of escalation and decide upon measures/solutions.  
  • Monitor MI Reporting performance and identify cause/effect relationships.  

Process Management

  • Identify improvement areas and develop practical improvement solutions for existing processes/procedures/work instructions, technology and organization.
    • Identifies areas with room for improvement. Develops practical proposals for improvement of complex processes, procedures, work instructions and technology.
  • Provide input to projects based on own expertise (content/process driven) and monitor the impact of the project on the operational execution.
    • Provides input for projects based on his own experience and best practices. Monitors the impact of projects on operational execution and acts on the findings.
  • Implement process/technology/organisation improvements and ensure proper understanding by involved parties.
    • Implements improvements in the area of standard processes and technology. Makes sure parties involved are kept informed about improvements.

Requirements

Education / level and field of study / Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor studies; preferably in economics, econometrics, mathematic, statistics, or finance
  • Advanced degree in data science or related field
  • Leadership and project management training

Work experience Professional knowledge: in detail when specialist function

  • 2-5 years of professional experience in reporting and analytics
  • Analytical skills with ability to collect, organize, analyses and visualize significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Numerical proficiency: ability to be comfortable on working with numbers, documentation, system tools and derive information from them
  • Advance knowledge of MS Office (in particular Access, Excel, VBA)
  • Relevant knowledge and experience in MS SQL and Sharepoint are an advantage.
  • Knowledge of computer language is preferred
  • Comfortable with working under pressure and tight deadlines
  •  Enthusiastic and passionate about work, good team-player
  •  Understanding of financial services markets would be an asset
  •  Experience in international assignments would be an asset
  • Experience with business intelligence and data analytics tools such as Tableau
  • Familiarity with statistical and data mining techniques and when it is appropriate to use them
  • Strong problem-solving skills
