MUST-WATCH TITLES FOR JUNE

JUNE 11 – HBO’s BETTY *Season 2 Premiere*
- Based on creator Crystal Moselle’s 2018 Sundance hit Skate Kitchen, BETTY returns to Crave for a second season, premiering Friday, June 11 at 11 p.m. ET. The series follows five young women on journeys of self-discovery against the backdrop of New York City’s male-dominated skateboarding scene. In Season 2, the five protagonists are stepping firmly into womanhood and tackling all the challenges it brings. As they navigate the pressures of adulthood, their male counterparts start to step up, step in, and become true allies, forming a united front for the greater good. Set in the last chapter of 2020, the season captures the late summer and early fall COVID-19 months in New York City, where masks and outside activities are the norm. BETTY follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes dropping Fridays at 11 p.m. ET.
JUNE 13 – STARZ’s BLINDSPOTTING *Series Premiere*
- STARZ’s new 30-minute dramedy, BLINDSPOTTING, begins streaming Sunday, June 13. BLINDSPOTTING centres on Ashley (Jasmine Cephas Jones, #FREERAYSHAWN, Hamilton An American Musical) who is nipping at the heels of a middle class life in Oakland until her partner Miles (Rafael Casal) is suddenly incarcerated, leaving her to navigate a chaotic and humorous existential crisis when she is forced to move in with Miles’ mother Rainey, played by Helen Hunt. Rainey is a woman who has strong opinions and holds family above all else. Benjamin Earl Turner, Atticus Woodward (SHAMELESS), Jaylen Barron (FREE REIN), and Candace Nicholas-Lippman (GOOD TROUBLE) also star. BLINDSPOTTING follows a weekly release schedule, with new episodes of the series available to stream Sundays on STARZ.
JUNE 18 – THE UNITED STATES VS. BILLIE HOLIDAY *Movie Premiere*
- The legendary Billie Holiday, one of the greatest jazz musicians of all time, spent much of her career being adored by fans across the world, all while the Federal Department of Narcotics targeted her with an undercover sting operation led by black Federal Agent Jimmy Fletcher, with whom she had a tumultuous affair. Star of the film, Andra Day, was nominated for an Oscar, and won a Golden Globe® for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Drama for her performance. Inspired by Holiday’s life story, THE UNITED STATES VS. BILLIE HOLIDAY streams Friday, June 18, and intimately examines her struggles with addiction, fame, and heartbreaking love.
JUNE 18 – THE LITTLE THINGS *Movie Premiere*
- Oscar® winners Denzel Washington, Rami Malek, and Jared Leto star in crime drama, THE LITTLE THINGS, streaming Fiday, June 18. Set in the 90s, the film follows Deputy Sheriff Joe “Deke” Deacon (Washington) who teams up with a sergeant (Malek) to hunt a serial killer in Los Angeles. As the investigation unfolds, it dredges up Deke’s painful past.
JUNE 25 – HBO Max’s THE WITCHES *Movie Premiere*
- Starring a powerhouse cast including Anne Hathaway, Octavia Spencer, Stanley Tucci, Kristin Chenoweth, and Chris Rock, Robert Zemeckis’ visually innovative film, THE WITCHES, begins streaming on Friday, June 25. The story tells the darkly humorous and heartwarming tale of a young orphaned boy who in late 1967, goes to live with his loving Grandma in rural Alabama. As the boy and his grandmother encounter some deceptively glamorous but diabolical witches, she wisely whisks him away to a seaside resort. Regrettably, they arrive at precisely the same time that the world’s Grand High Witch has gathered her fellow cronies from around the globe – undercover – to carry out her nefarious plans.
JUNE 18 – DOMINA *Series Premiere*
- The sweeping eight-part drama series DOMINA takes place during one of the most provocative periods in Roman history. Filmed in Rome, DOMINA follows the extraordinary rise of Emperor Augustus Caesar’s third wife, Livia Drusilla, played by Kasia Smutniak (From Paris With Love). The series brings to life the exploits, affairs, and battles for political clout that surrounded the couple, who sat at the heart of the Roman Empire. DOMINA also stars Liam Cunningham (GAME OF THRONES) and Isabella Rossellini (Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart). The full season drops Friday, June 18.
Now Streaming – LGBTQ x Inside Out Collection
- In celebration of Pride Month, Crave’s LGBTQ x Inside Out Collection features titles such as: HBO Max’s VENENO (premiering June 24), LEGENDARY, and GENERA+ION; HBO series PAUSE WITH SAM JAY and EUPHORIA; SHOWTIME’s THE L WORD: GENERATION Q; and STARZ’s VIDA. The collection also features a number of documentaries including HBO’s WELCOME TO CHECHNYA and TRANSHOOD, SHOWTIME’s XY CHELSEA, and more.

JUNE 4 – INTERGALACTIC *Series Premiere*
- Written by award-winning showrunner, Julie Gearey (PRISONERS’ WIVES, CUFFS, SECRET DIARY OF A CALL GIRL), this sci-fi series tells the story of a fearless young cop and galactic pilot, Ash Harper (Savannah Steyn, A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES), who has her glittering career ripped away from her after being wrongly convicted of a treasonous crime, and exiled to a distant prison colony. But on the way there, Ash’s fellow convicts stage a mutiny and seize control of their prison transfer ship. All eight episodes of INTERGALACTIC are available for streaming on Friday, June 4.
JUNE 11 – GOSSIP GIRL *Seasons 1-6*
- All six seasons of the hit drama series based on the novels of the same name, GOSSIP GIRL, drop on Friday, June 11. GOSSIP GIRL follows the lives of privileged teenagers on the Upper East Side who can hide no secret from the ruthless blogger who is always watching. The series begins as Manhatten prep school teens learn that Serena van der Woodsen, once the Upper East Side’s most notorious party girl, is back in town. The series gave rise to stars including Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf), Penn Badgley (Dan Humphrey), Chase Crawford (Nate Archibald), and Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass). The original GOSSIP GIRL comes to Crave in advance of the upcoming GOSSIP GIRL reboot from HBO Max, slated to premiere on Crave later this summer.
JUNE 18 – FATALE *Movie Premiere*
- Starring Hilary Swank and Michael Ealy, the thriller mystery FATALE begins streaming on Friday, June 18. After a wild one-night stand, a successful sports agent watches his perfect life slowly disappear when he discovers the sexy and mysterious woman he risked everything for is a determined police detective who entangles him in her latest investigation. As he desperately tries to put the pieces together, he falls deeper into her trap, risking his family, his career, and even his life.
JUNE 18 – VICE’s DARK SIDE OF FOOTBALL *Series Premiere*
- Season 1 of the VICE docuseries THE DARK SIDE OF FOOTBALL drops Friday, June 18. The six-episode, one-hour series shines a light on stories that live in the shadows of America’s favourite sport, exploring the tension between America’s undying love of the game, and its ability to corrupt and damage those who live and die for it. Throughout the season, THE DARK SIDE OF FOOTBALL explores the sometimes-flawed men behind the masks; the coaches, teams and leagues who control their fates; and the untold story behind bizarre and tragic off-the-field events; and facts that are often hidden to shield fans from discovering unsettling truths about the game they love.
JUNE 24 – HBO MAX’s VENENO *Series Premiere*
- Also during Pride Month, the HBO Max Spanish-language series VENENO drops Thursday, June 24, and is based on the real-life story of 90s Trans icon La Veneno. The series follows Valeria (Lola Rodríguez), a young journalism student who meets and instantly bonds with her idol, Cristina “La Veneno” Ortiz Rodríguez (Jedet, Daniela Santiago, and Isabel Torres). The two women were born in very different times, but their stories become intertwined when Valeria writes a book about La Veneno. As she begins to write Cristina’s memoir, Valeria is plunged into a winding story full of victory and tragedy; friendship and heartbreak; loyalty and abuse; fame and freefall; but always defined by courage and self-love. VENENO weaves between Cristina’s past and present to paint a portrait of a complex woman who, in daring to break boundaries and refusing to dim her own light, paved the way for so many others to shine.
JUNE 28 – THE HOLY GAME *Documentary Premiere*
- From directors Brent Hodge (I Am Chris Farley, Freaks and Geeks: The Documentary) and Chris Kelly (The Slowest Show, This Is That), THE HOLY GAME offers an exclusive look at an officially sanctioned Vatican soccer tournament for priests. Beyond the Vatican walls, there is a soccer championship like no other in which young priests in seminary from around the world gather to play in the Clericus Cup. The film explores religion, sport, and tradition, and examines why people around the world still sacrifice so much to become a priest. The documentary begins streaming on Monday, June 28.
