What travelers are saying
- MichaelNew York City, NY2 contributionsAmazing experience! M. Sheridan was our house tour guide…she was born to do this! Aside from being a historian and expert on Lizzie Borden, Mrs. Sheridan maintained a character, demeanor, and style that was synonymous with the era. So much fun! We learned so much about the Borden family and that fateful day, to include separating fact from fiction. This may be the best tour ever! Highly recommend!Written April 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Harrision S0 contributionsGreat to tread the decks of a real battleship (A pity the RN didn't keep at least one). And good to see one engine room open too. Watch your footing and your head in some areas.Written May 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sarah C31 contributionsI went to see the Borden family graves, but the Cemetery as a whole was gorgeous to walk through. There are markings on the ground to dorect you to the Borden family. Sprawling and well maintained, paths and roads are easy to walk. Easy to remember to be respectful in such a beautiful place. There is parking inside the gate, too!Written February 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- David M2 contributionsLocated in a well preserved 19th century mansion, the site is a virtual museum. Includes a small gift shop/book store with items relating to the history of the city and the Lizzy Borden case. Staff is courteous and knowledgeable.
For a nominal fee you are led through the main parts of the house, highlighting the art, furnishings, and architecture. One room contains the largest collection of Lizzie
Borden related material in existence. It's truly a step back in time to 19th century Fall River. Well worth the visit.Written October 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This place is just outside of the busy Downton area of Fall River, just across route 79 from Battleship Cove (although there's no easy way to walk from one to the other) Guides are dressed in period attire and are loaded with information on the revolution war. Length of visit is an hour or less depending on if there's any activities planned that day. If you're a history buff, definitely visit this placeWritten December 15, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John MKennebunk, ME304 contributionsAround the corner from Battleship Cove, this museum does not get mutch attention, but is very interesting. They have one of the largest collections of Titanic memorabiliaWritten January 15, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Tom GNew Bedford, MA56 contributionsTerrific variety of craft brews. It's a little out-of-the-way, but totally worth it. It's a large converted space. Plenty of room to hang out. Staff is super friendly and love to talk about the different beers they offer. They have added some upholstered seating which is nice. Go with friends. I also like that it's dog friendly.Written February 17, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sarah C31 contributionsThis was a cool piece of history to see. However, it is a private residence, so I just stopped out front for a few minutes while driving by to admire the building. - missmellie2015Teaneck, NJ12 contributionsAbsolutely a must visit...from the old art deco diners to the old time bars and ice cream parlors. Great visit for the whole family. - Paul BFall River, MA17 contributionsworth an hour or two, sort of inspiring for young developing inquisitive minds. Plenty of hands on simple concepts to make kids think scientifically. Price kind of steep for the quantity of experiences. Cool building that adults might care about.Written January 20, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Alisha P2 contributionsI can't say enough about this experience- I booked an overnight stay for my husband's birthday. We were very excited about it, and still it overshot our expectations. When you stay, you're the only ones at the lighthouse, left to experience it the way the lightkeeper would (well, except without any responsibilities and with cell phone coverage, ha ha). The instructions from the owner in the confirmation email were clear, he was responsive to our inquiries before the trip, and was in touch by text when an unexpected thunderstorm came through that night. Every bit was well thought out and executed, from meeting us on time to take us to the light, to taking our photos before and after the overnight stay and texting them to us, to the selection of DVDs in the sitting room (The Lighthouse, Finding Nemo, etc., LOL). It was an incredibly windy day upon arrival (25 mph winds) which made it even more exciting and memorable for us, and the sunset (and lightning) views were incredible from both the lower level and from the light up top. This is an incredibly memorable and unique experience that you won't regret. Only warnings: (1) They are booked up a YEAR in advance, so book now for next year. (2) Two people, max, and no pets. (3) It would be tough for people who have mobility concerns- you climb a rung ladder from the boat to the first floor, and the bedroom is four flights up.Written July 14, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
