Accor Hotels who have taken over the Fairmont have instituted excellent changes in a hotel that was already the best airport hotel we have encountered in our travels. They have made subtle but important changes in the rooms--new patterned rugs, much better art on the walls--our current room features a wonderful high quality photo of the Stanley Park Seawall Walk--excellent bedside lamps, a better organized desk and a wonderful chair and high tech reading lamp that initially defied our attempts to turn it on. Unfortunately the high tech, strange smelling Keurig coffee maker remains in its awkward location (we have yet to meet a guest who has actually used it). But of course that is a minor complaint.

OK, the Fairmont is not the cheapest hotel around but no good hotel near Vancouver Airport is. The beauty of it is that after arriving on a long flight, when your body clock is telling you it's 4 AM there is no waiting around for a taxi or shuttle bus - you just walk in to it where you are allocated a very comfortable bed.

Very nice place to stay before an early morning flight. The rooms are fabulous and nice to watch flights take off right from your room. The price of rooms fluctuates a lot but if you get the lower price it’s well worth it We have stayed many times and the price can be anywhere from $199 to $650 for the same room.

I never thought spending one night in an airport hotel would be as comfortable and convenient — so glad we decided to choose this! Room service is outrageous but that’s part of the experience. Splurge. It sure beats waking up earlier than necessary to catch the first flight out. Public transportation in and out of the airport is really easy, too, so you can still spend time downtown and enjoy the city.

The stay was great, staff was excellent and accommodated everything the conference I attended to, check in a out was easy. Love the view of the mountains and watching how the airplanes moved around kept it interesting. Only negative was pay for Wi-Fi.

We stayed in the hotel pre/post Disney cruise. The location is superb for easy access to/from travel, and the staff is great.
The lobby is beautiful, bar is well stocked, restaurant has a small-ish menu.
The rooms are feeling dated. Wallpaper is starting to peel, sliding doors to bathrooms are needing to be greased so as not to need yanking to close and open, we had one door handle just fall off at the slightest touch.
The sun comes up before 5am and the blackout curtains would be great if it were not for the mechanism that does not permit them to close all the way where they should meet. There is a gaping hole (seems to be a problem in most rooms, we stayed in 924 and 922), so you’re up before 5 whether or not you want to be.
We would stay here and again and would recommend that others who need this convenience do too-this is perfectly adequate, but the hotel should be aware that the property is teetering on the edge of needing some refurbishment.

After stopping in some downmarket hotels on our HAL land tour, the final stay here was amazing. The room was brilliant, well appointed and everything from the foyer, lift and halls were fresh smelling. Our room looked out onto the takeoff runway but the glazing was so effective we didn't hear anything. The bed was super comfy and we would definitely stay here again if visiting YVR.

Upgraded to top floor and watched inner workings of the airport. Also had breakfast buffet and our own concierge. Well worth it. Had a large pleasant room plus a restaurant lounge in the building. It is located near baggage claim.

i don't think so, as it is an airport hotel and a ways from the port. we used it on the way back, not going.

Self parking is available for overnight hotel guests in the YVR Terminal Parkade for $28.50 per night, inclusive of taxes.
