Netflix has released a new look at Chris Hemsworth's upcoming movie Extraction.
The streaming platform recently unveiled a poster and some fresh stills for the new action film, in which the Thor actor plays Tyler Rake, a "fearless black market mercenary".
Tyler has nothing left to lose when "his skills are solicited to rescue the kidnapped son of an imprisoned international crime lord," according to the film's official synopsis.
"But in the murky underworld of weapons dealers and drug traffickers, an already deadly mission approaches the impossible, forever altering the lives of Rake and the boy."
Extraction is directed by Sam Hargrave, who has mostly worked as a stunt coordinator on some of the biggest blockbusters in recent years, including Avengers: Endgame and Infinity War, Captain America: Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok, Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde, Suicide Squad and more.
This isn't the only Marvel reunion in the film, however. Avengers directors Joe and Anthony Russo are also on board as producers, with the former writing the screenplay. Hemsworth himself is also one of the producers on the film.
Hemsworth will also star alongside Black Widow's David Harbour in Extraction, another MCU team-up of sorts – although their characters may never actually meet.
Other cast members include Rudraksh Jaiswal, Randeep Hooda, Golshifteh Farahani, Pankaj Tripathi and Priyanshu Painyuli.
Last month, Netflix released some first-look images of Hemsworth in action as the black market mercenary, and it looks like he doesn't need a hammer or thunder to smash up the bad guys after all.
Extraction launches on Netflix on April 24. Meanwhile, Thor: Love and Thunder has a release date of November 5, 2021.
