 If Not For Love

Where do we go from here?
Where do we go when it all disappears?
If we could simply turn back the clock
If not for love, then what?

Ah, but if it all came down to the wire
How far would you want to fall?
If you only had one chance to love
Would you risk it all?

If not for love, then what?
Would you be prepared to burn?
Sacrificing everything you had
Just for one chance, one turn
And perhaps it would open up your heart
To the reality only love can reveal
Would that be enough, or not?
If not for love, then what?

If not,
Then what?
What more is there
If love is not enough?
If not for love
Then what?

Will you hide your love away
Stay hidden away from the light?
There is not a lot you can say
When you’re hidden by the night

So take a chance don’t be afraid
A candle can light as much as it can burn
It’s time to make plans and be strong
For every mistake is a lesson learned
You can be whoever you want to be
No one can make you ever want to stop
Because if not for love, then what?

If not,
Then what?
What more is there
If love is not enough?
If not for love
Then what?
What more is there
If love is not enough?
If not for love
Then what?

Annie Moon

I knew a girl named Annie Moon
From a certain way-back, magic June.
I see her walking into town
Cute rose glasses--they were round.

Bluejean shorts, bright white shirt.
Hiker’s boots, she kicks the dirt.
Pale blue eyes, light blond hair,
A smile that stretched from here to there.

Annie Moon
Annie Moon
Her name to me
Sings like a tune:
Annie Moon.

There was mischief in those big blue eyes.
Lots of boys made lots of tries.
She took me to her secret pond
Then decided to help me along

On the path from boy to man.
Annie led me by the hand.
Thank you, thank you, Annie Moon
For that dreamlike way-back June.

Annie Moon
Annie Moon
Her name to me
Sings like a tune.
Annie Moon.

Last night I flew from Lauderdale.
Airport bar—sipping some ale.
Turned & saw her sitting there.
I’d know Annie anywhere.

We talked & we walked back through the years.
Laughed so hard, we shed some tears.
We can’t go back, but that’s okay.
As Annie said, “We’re here today.”

Annie Moon
Annie Moon
To me her name’s
The sweetest tune.
Annie Moon.

Where is Annie?
Where am I?
We’re in the airport.
She might cry.

We find it’s so hard
To say goodbye.
But we connected.
Thank you, Fate.

A kiss & she said
“That’s my gate.”
I stood there like
The boy I’d been.
Hard to move
When your mind’s still back-then.

Annie Moon—thank you, Annie Moon
For that dreamlike way-back June.
Annie Moon, Annie Moon

Almost Sublime… (guitar love ballad)

(1st verse)
I am in way too deep,
I'm falling way too fast,
Is this another one night stand,
or this time will it last?

I can feel your heart beating,
can you feel it next to mine?
Almost sublime,
Almost - sub-lime.
Almost sublime,
Almost - sub-lime.

(2nd verse)
This is way too much,
I tingle to your touch,
This is way too real,
to tell you how I feel.

I can feel your heart beating,
can you feel it next to mine?
Almost sublime,
Almost - sub-lime,
Almost sublime,
Almost - sub-lime.

(chorus)
Are we moving too fast?
Will this feeling last?
Is this- feeling real?
I don't know what to feel,
Will it go away,
or is it here to stay?

I'll keep loving you my way….
Almost sublime…
Almost - sub-lime,
Almost sublime,
Almost - sub-lime.

(last verse)
I can't help but taste your lips,
your fingers on my chest,
I'm drowning deep in your brown eyes,
our heart beats tell the rest.

I can feel your heart beating,
can you feel it next to mine?
Almost sublime,
Almost - sublime,
Almost sublime,
Almost - sublime.

Almost sublime.
