Despite often being seen as a bit of a joke character, Dan Hibiki has been scheduled to be Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition's first new challenger of the Season 5 characters. We'll have to wait a bit longer for Rose, Oro, Akira Kazama, and that mysterious fifth fighter.

Earlier today, new details about Dan's gameplay were revealed during a special stream at the Tokyo Game Show. Notably, it seems like Dan's animations have been cleaned up a fair bit compared to how we first saw Dan during the Summer Update stream.

As a result, HiFight has uploaded a video compares Dan's animations in Street Fighter 5 to his attacks in Street Fighter 4 and Street Fighter Alpha.

Despite being a real goofball character, Dan's backdash seems to be a bit more serious this time around. Rather than facing away from the opponent and running away, Dan actually manages to keep his eyes on the opponent this time as he performs the action.

Of course, some of his attacks have become a lot more exaggerated. For example, Dan seemingly almost loses his balance while performing a stand heavy kick.

Check out all the comparisons in HiFight's video below:
