Eve's a Mom! Get to Know the Rapper and Actress' Family, Including Husband Maximillion Cooper and New Son Wilde Wolf!

Having simultaneous (and simultaneously successful) careers in music, television, film and fashion isn’t something everyone can do, but the multitalented Eve has managed to find fame, fortune and fulfillment on all fronts. And as of February 2022, that includes becoming a first-time mom alongside husband Maximillion Cooper to their newborn son, named Wilde Wolf Fife Alexander Somers Cooper (phew!).

"Our Beautiful boy was born Feb 1st 2022," Eve wrote Thursday, Feb. 10 on Instagram along with a heart emoji and a photo of her swaddled, sleeping son.

As for Even, she was born Eve Jihan Jeffers in 1978 in West Philadephia, Eve was briefly signed to Dr. Dre’s label Aftermath before signing with Ruff Ryders Entertainment, when her career really took off. 

Billed as the “First Lady” of Ruff Ryders, her debut album, Let There Be Eve...Ruff Ryders' First Lady, hit No. 1 on the Billboard top 200. Hits like “What Ya Want” and “Gangsta Lovin’” kept her name on the charts, and she eventually earned a Grammy for her "Let Me Blow Ya Mind” collaboration with Gwen Stefani (the two later teamed up again for “Rich Girl," another hit).

Eve has also made a name for herself in movies and television. She's appeared in all of the Barbershop films and had her own self-titled sitcom, Eve, which ran from 2003 to 2006. She’s also appeared in the films The Woodsman, Cookout and Whip It. From 2017 to 2020, she was a co-host on CBS' daytime gabfest The Talk; she also hosts a podcast called Constantly Evolving. If that weren’t enough, she had her own fashion line from 2003 to 2009 called Fetish.

In 2021, the 43-year-old returned to the small screen in a new ABC musical drama called Queens with Brandy, Naturi Naughton and Nadine Velazquez. In the show, the four women, all in their forties, find their mojo again and reform their ‘90s hip-hop group after years of being apart. Eve plays a character who was known as “Professor Sex” (yowza!) at the height of their career.

But Eve has also found success in her personal life—as evidenced when she happily shared the news of her pregnancy online.

"Very excited to share this news," Cooper wrote Oct. 15 on Instagram alongside pics of his very pregnant wife. "We have a lil human on the way!"

For Eve and Cooper, getting to this point in their relationship wasn't without its fair share of bumps (not just baby bumps!) along the way. “In the beginning, it was very hard because obviously, I come from hip-hop, there was no other person at that time especially from that world dating outside the race, outside of Black guys,” Eve has said. The rapper has also claimed she was “trolled” for picking a white man who wasn’t a part of the culture. “It was not met very well by people I knew for sure,” Eve recalled, especially since she was the first Black woman he’d dated. “When we first started posting about our relationship, we got the worst crazy messages that I can’t even believe someone could write or think or type these words.”

Today, though, she says people have gotten used to it. “Over the years, I have to say now it’s mostly 99.9% positive because of us being so confident in loving each other and who we are that people have come around, or those ignorant people have just left my page which hopefully has happened," she's said.

In 2020, Eve ruffled some feathers when she said “I don’t think about our race” in an interview. “When we first got together, yeah, of course. I had never been with a white guy seriously like that," she explained. "So yeah, I definitely thought about it. But we are so honest with each other that we have discussions, and that’s a beautiful thing.” 

However, Eve has admitted that she and her husband have had to talk about race issues, particularly in the wake of George Floyd’s death and the protests afterward.

“These conversations have to be had," she admitted on The Talk. "I am in an interracial relationship. I am having some of the most difficult and uncomfortable conversations I think I've ever had, and vice versa, with my husband. But, at the same time, it’s a beautiful thing, because … I don’t know his life through his eyes. He doesn’t know my life through my eyes.”

She’s also thought about how her interracial—and international—relationship will affect her kids: “I want them to be color-blind, but I do want them to understand both sides of themselves. I’m a Black woman and I love being a Black woman. And I think my child should know that black part of themselves. But obviously, at the same time, their father would be white and I would want them to know that side of themselves. And British! That’s a whole other situation.”

Eve knew Cooper was the one when she was comfortable with him seeing her natural hair, she says. “I wouldn’t let a guy see me in my braids,” she told the ladies on The Real. “But now I’m like, ‘Yeah, I don’t care.’ That’s when I knew! ‘I guess we’re staying together'... I was actually getting my hair done. I was at a salon actually, in a little suite. He walked in and I was like, what am I gonna do? Run? He was just like, ‘Okay.’”

Cooper proposed on Christmas Day 2013 while they were vacationing in Scotland. "When he proposed, I was off my game," Eve once recalled. "It was honestly such a surprise, and I don't know how he kept it from me. He wasn't weird or off, so I just ignored it. He got me."

"We're incorporating Gumball, because it's really like a big family. When you're on the road for those days, you share so much of your time together that it makes sense."

We met on the 2010 Gumball 3000 rally so it only seemed right to have the wedding at the finish of this year's rally in Ibiza, which was the final stop on this year's event. We couldn't be happier to celebrate such a special day with all our family and friends."

Since then, they’ve been happy by all accounts—even if he can’t dance. “My poor baby. I don’t let him dance. It’s really bad,”  she’s said. “It’s honestly so bad that I thought he was joking. I was like, ‘Oh that’s cute! You’re like dancing…you know.’ And then he did it again and did it again, I was like, ‘You know what? You shouldn’t dance.’"

The couple has spent time in London, New York City and Los Angeles. However, splitting time between all those locations started to become a challenge. Eve shared that she left The Talk in part because she wanted to work on starting a family, revealing that it was difficult to fly back and forth.
