A stunning and atmospheric old town full of little squares and narrow streets lined with colourful floral displays.
We were lucky enough to stay in El Pilar hotel which is ideally situated in Plaza de la Flores, the central square in the old town.
The poor weather over the Easter period meant that at times we had the streets to ourselves, and we followed several self-guided walks that were described in great detail on the Tripadvisor Estepona forum site. Very handy indeed.
One of the loveliest old towns we have visited in Spain.

We were lucky enough to be staying at the El Pilar hotel so had a wonderful view over this pretty square from our room. The weather was poor during our stay so the square remained fairly quiet, however on the one sunny afternoon we experienced, the square totally transformed into a hub of chatter and noise, filled with restaurant tables and children playing.

I have no idea of how much money Estepona has spent in the recent years to make the paeseo so nice but for sure money we’ll spent. It is simply amazing, very wide. Full of access to the beach, of activities (playgrounds, chess) and shadow areass.

We had a great time at the park and its quite large with a Serengeti Safari experience area where you can feed Zebra and interact with the knoweldgable and engaging rangers, we had Thomas who was very good and also bilingual. There's really good signs and descriptions too. You get 2 days access to the park, swimming pool in season and a Serengeti safari.

There are 3 grades of lodge, and we chose Watu but was offsite at the top of a hill. The transfers from the park take around 5 minutes that was on call 24/7 so that was good. We intentionally stayed on the site to give our 6 year old daughter a magical experience of staying near animals and hearing them and although the hut was great, we felt it was not quite what we were looking for. The other two grades of lodge were on site. That said, the lodge was really nice, not basic or luxurious but good enough with a Tv, fridge, 2 beds and a hydrotherapy bath. You get transfer, dinner and breakfast in the Barbecoa restaurant and also an activity, we had the Zipline which was fun.

We would recommend to other people and would stay again.

My brother and sister in law were staying and they wanted to visit this. Only 3€ to get in and there is a huge variety of Orchids of all colours and sizes.

I did this over two days. I really enjoyed it. The murals are great. A map of Estepona and a small map with all the murals are available in the tourist office in the old town.

We had booked a group visit and were met by our guide, Juanjo, who spoke perfect English. The visit lasted 2 hours and it was so interesting. Everything is so well presented, the artefacts and the 5 reconstructed dolmens, all found when the motorway was being made. We learned so much about life 4/5 thousand years ago. Amazing! It is recommended to pre-book a visit, which is a bit off the beaten track. Do not miss this fabulous museum!

Visited the marina for a non dolphin sight seeing tour. Loved the boat trip even without the sight or mention of the dolphins it was beautiful. Tour ended at 4 and no where to eat - all restaurants had close the kitchens for the afternoon and so not re-open until 6. Ice cream parlour was the only option 😂 good selection and variety of eateries. No hassle from restaurants or from tour reps which was hood.

When looking to celebrate Mass in this part of Malaga, this is a great choice. The interior is quite cheerful and pretty. Both the walk from the municipal parking garage or from the paseo is charming as Estepona is quaint and easily walkable. We live about 20KM west and come here often for evening Mass on Sunday’s. Not being fluent in Spanish, can’t comment on homily quality. There’s beauty in the Mass no matter where we travel or whateverthe local language.

Fantastic place especially as we were total beginners (2 adults and 2 children -7&9). The horses were very relaxed. The scenery on the trek was stunning. Fred and Sabine expertly guided us through it all. 100% recommend.

Playa de la Rada is such a tease. If you want a Long Beach to walk either in the sand or on the adjacent promenade, I’d say this beach is rated 5 stars.

If you want a beach to swim at, if my visit in September is typical, then you’re not going to be happy. Very rocky. Surf action is fairly high (too much for kids for sure) but it probably would be doable if you get in and out of the surf fairly quickly. But rocky bottom doesn’t allow for that.

Some reviews say it is possible with water shoes on but I’ve been here 2 days and haven’t seen anyone swimming yet. But great to have a long walkable beach right in town and the Senda Litoral (coastal path) means you have other beaches to choose from ( many also very rocky)

Nice little square! We discovered it by pure chance while following the Questo app steps through the city!
