Cathay Pacific online booking Internal Error Message?

Hey everyone,

Just wondering if anyone else is getting an Internal Error Message on cathaypacific.com?

I'm trying to book a trip to Thailand this March and I've been using momondo.com to search for flights. I'd love to just book the trip but I want to check with Cathay Pacific directly and see if it's any cheaper than what's on bookairfare.com (via momondo) Is anyone else getting this problem? It only happens when I search for flights. I can navigate around the rest of the website just fine.

Also - has anyone used bookairfare.com and had success? There isn't much/anything about it on TA

Never heard from bookairfare.com. I highly recommend you do some research.

Also, try ITA to see what fares you come up with. ITA doesn't sell tickets. You can take the itinerary's fare basis and ask a travel agent or call the airline to see if they can book the fare for you.

I never have problems with the CX website. As Joe said, try a different browser or even hardware.

The message "Internal Error" indicates to me that there is a problem in Cathay Pacific's web site. Try again later.

Thank you all for your super fast input! The TA community is amazing and I'm so happy to be a part of it.

I'm weary of bookingairfare.com too. Momondo is great to search for flights because I feel that it includes more airlines than travelocity etc. but I'm skeptical of the sites it suggests.

Cathay Pacific website is back! I just tried again and it worked perfectly! The same flights that I was looking at on the iffy site is there and $80 more pp but I'm going to gladly pay that difference for peace of mind.

Thanks again everyone! Thailand here we come!

Cathay Pacific website is back! I just tried again and it worked perfectly! The same flights that I was looking at on the iffy site is there and $80 more pp but I'm going to gladly pay that difference for peace of mind.

That $80 is just the advert. Probably in reality is trivially different.

Unfortunately website is also not functioning for me. Tried to make a change in My Booking but get an Internal Error Message : try again later message.

Has nothing to do with browsers, is only a Cathay Pacific internal website error.

Hope it will be back soon so we can make a small textual change to passport information and check in the flight....

Possibly some on-going maintenance to correct glitches, or perhaps to update some aspect of the Web site. Airline Web sites are highly complex creations, and at many levels. While they can usually be updated on-the-fly, that is not always the case. They can also glitch out, and more in-depth work needs to be done. Last Sept UA's Web site went bonkers through the 1K portal, and the issues happened on "both ends," the user's, and the agent's. It was fixed in a day, but was a PITA for a bit. On about the 3rd of Jan, their calendar on the Reservations page went crazy, and it took them about 5 days to sort that out. Stuff happens, and it amazes me how well they usually work, and how seldom they break down.

Ever since CX updated its website around 3 months ago, there have been quite a few internal errors. Whenever that shows up, click the reload button and see if it works. I was able to resolve online check-in error messages that way.

Also, after one Error Message, it can be useful to clean/purge one's browser cache.
