Starlit Passage is the debut MCD from Enmerkar. Surprisingly, this act hails from the States, but their music is more European, with a style and sound more commonly heard from Italy.

This band is a duo made of Morchiant (vocals, guitars and atmosphere) and drummer Tentakel. They have composed for this release five tracks of high quality atmospheric Black Metal. Of the five tracks, three are actually instrumentals. The ghostly rasps of Morchiant are rather discrete, blending in with the massive sonic structure. Highly atmospheric keyboards arrangements teamed up with fuzzed guitar work create some heavily melancholic passages. Starlit Passage has a well balanced proportion of fast-paced vs. Calmer moments, as well as heavy moods vs. Ambient times. Opener "Where the Mountains Will Hide Your Ghost" is a nice and quiet instrumental composed with bird samplings, keyboards and acoustic guitars. For a meatier tune, check out track #3, "Warriors of the Mist", where distorted riffs and arpeggios, keyboards and mid tempos build up a massive atmospheric wall. "The Ancient Land of Sorrow and Beauty" is not only a great title, but the composition reflects the words quite well too. This song has equal parts of darkness and harmonies, and is the strongest track on this MCD.

Enmenkar are introducing themselves with a strong and quite powerfully harmonious release, only making us hoping to hear a full-length very soon!
