After her big break in Harry Potter, Emma Watson's fan base exploded, and fame changed her life.

Though at first, she didn't realize just how famous she was, Emma learned to embrace her celebrity and has since spoken out about big issues, letting her platform speak for lesser-heard people. She also credits her parents with helping her keep a level head through it all.

Given her penchant for, well, being a normal person, it's not surprising that fans like to discuss her life trajectory and whether she'll walk down the aisle, have kids (maybe on her own), or perhaps eschew marriage and "traditional" family life altogether.

As it turns out, Emma herself may not really know what she wants in life, or when she'll figure it out.

Fans Are Itching For Emma Watson To Tie The Knot

Fans are, understandably, obsessed with Emma's personal life — as most followers are when it comes to their idols. And having grown up with Emma as Hermione, while Emma herself was growing up too, many fans likely relate to her on various levels.

But while many Harry Potter fanatics are parents themselves (leading their kids in the ways of magic, no doubt), they've noticed Emma hasn't followed that path, so now they're wondering if she ever intends to.

One fan posed the question of why Emma hasn't been married yet on Quora, and many fans jumped into the conversation to defend their favorite celebrity.

The top-upvoted response? It's likely that "Emma takes no issue with marriage," a fan wrote, but also pointed out that she seems "more interested" in getting involved with charity and outreach versus "finding someone to marry."

Given Emma's opinions on various other issues, it makes sense that fans believe she's not against the institution of marriage. But does she want that for herself, and does Emma ever plan to become a mother?

At the time of the Quora conversation, Emma wasn't dating anyone which, of course, made the question a moot point; she wasn't going to get married without being partnered up with someone. But as of 2019, Emma has been in a committed relationship.

Who Is Emma Watson Dating?

Emma has had a few noteworthy relationships over the years, and while she keeps her personal matters under wraps, she has been spotted out with various partners over the years.

Most recently, Emma has been connected to Leo Robinton; the two met in 2019 and were still going strong in June 2022, according to Seventeen's last report.

But despite how "loved up" the two apparently are, no engagement announcement has come yet. The big question on fans' minds, then, is whether Emma wants to be married at all — and if she plans to become a mom one day, too.

Does Emma Watson Want To Get Married?

In an interview with Vogue in 2020, Emma confessed she felt "anxiety" over the extreme pressure to get married (and have kids). That's not to say she's against it, necessarily, but that society places so much importance on partnering up and birthing children that she felt overwhelmed.

Speaking to Vogue, Emma noted of her then-upcoming 30th birthday becoming stressful despite her prior nonchalance; "If you have not built a home, if you do not have a husband, if you do not have a baby, and you are turning 30, and you’re not in some incredibly secure, stable place in your career, or you’re still figuring things out…There’s just this incredible amount of anxiety.”

In the same interview, Emma called herself "self-partnered," saying she was very happy being single. Yet at the time, she was dating; given the timeline, she was seeing Leo at that point.

And the two didn't meet in any modern sort of way — Watson explained she was lucky that she had plenty of friends to set her up. Though blind dates didn't always work out, she eventually found her match (at least for now) with Leo.

Is Emma Watson Engaged To Leo Robinton?

Rumors swirled that Emma and Leo might have gotten engaged in 2021; paparazzi snapped pics of the pair and noticed that Emma had a ring on her ring finger. However, Emma later spoke up and confirmed she was not engaged, though they were still happily together.

That's not to say they'll be together forever, of course, but fans are hoping that Emma does decide to settle down with her longtime beau. Marriage isn't for everyone, but if that's what Emma decides is right for her, fans would be thrilled to have a glimpse into her journey as a wife and possibly a mother.

One thing they already know? That any child of Emma's will likely not follow in their mother's footsteps; in a 2011 interview, a then-21-year-old Watson answered an interviewer's question on whether she'd let her own future children act.

Though Watson said she would discourage her future offspring from pursuing acting, if it was something they really wanted to do, she would want them to have the same support system — and healthy grounding — that she did.
