Emma Stone is pregnant and expecting her first child with husband Dave McCary! Stone was spotted in Los Angeles cradling her growing belly while on a walk with a friend. The actress looked casual chic in a baseball cap, sneakers, black leggings, and a tight black top that showed off her adorable baby bump. Although the couple is yet to publicly confirm the news, a source told E! that “Emma is pregnant and just loves married life!”
In a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, Stone hinted that she was ready to start a family. “I feel pretty good about starting my own pack,” said the Oscar-winning actress.
A Match Made on SNL
Stone and McCary first met in late 2016, during Stone’s third time hosting Saturday Night Live. She acted in a sketch that McCary directed called “Wells For Boys.” The hilarious sketch coincidentally featured Stone as a mother. She buys her son a toy well from Fisher-Price’s “Sensitive Boy Line” that he gazes dreamily into.
In July 2017, the pair was spotted leaving the premiere of Emmy-nominated McCary’s directorial debut Brigsby Bear, causing speculation about their new romance. Later that year, a source confirmed to People magazine that the couple had been dating for a few months. Their official debut as a couple was at the 2019 SAG awards, when Stone was nominated for her work in The Favourite. Although the actress walked the red carpet solo in a stunning Louis Vuitton two-piece, McCary joined her at their table where the two chatted the night away.
Emma Stone & Andrew Garfield Split
Prior to her relationship with McCary, Stone dated her Amazing Spider-Man co-star Andrew Garfield. The pair famously dated for four years before calling it quits in 2015, shattering the hearts of many fans who loved their sizzling chemistry on and off the screen. Despite the break up, Stone and Garfield remained friendly with one another, with Cosmopolitan even dubbing them “The friendliest exes of all time.”
“They never stopped caring about each other. Even when they split, Emma and Andrew had great love and respect for each other,” a source close to the couple revealed to People.
Given how public Stone’s relationship with Garfield was, it is not surprising that the actress is much more tight-lipped about her current relationship with McCary.
A Public Engagement & Secret Wedding
In December 2019, the usually private couple announced their engagement via McCary’s Instagram. The SNL segment director shared a picture of himself smiling ear-to-ear as his bride-to-be held up an elegant pearl engagement ring. The unique ring from NYC jewelry store Catbird features a large pearl surrounded by a halo of diamonds.

Like many weddings this past year, the Stone-McCary wedding was postponed in March due to the pandemic. But the couple is reported to have secretly married in 2020. They were spotted wearing matching rings in September.
Stone & McCary: A Power Couple
With an Oscar, multiple Emmy nominations, and other accolades between them, Stone and McCary truly are a Hollywood power couple.
A source once revealed to People magazine that the couple’s strength is how they share the limelight with each other.
“Two highly successful people in the entertainment business don’t always give the other the space they need,” the source said. “But he encourages her, and she loves that.”
Stone On Motherhood & Marriage
Stone had her reservations about motherhood, and even marriage. In a 2018 interview for Elle magazine, the now 32-year-old actress revealed that her views on kids and marriage changed over time.
“My perspective about kids has changed as I’ve gotten older. I never babysat or anything. As a teenager, I was like, I’m never getting married, I’m never having kids. And then I got older and I was like, I really want to get married, I really want to have kids.”
The Oscar-winning actress also talked about why you won’t find her on social media. “I think it wouldn’t be a positive thing for me. If people can handle that sort of output and input in the social media sphere, power to them,” she said.
Stone Exits Brad Pitt-Starrer, Babylon
Stone recently exitedLa La Land director Damien Chazelle’s next venture, Babylon. The film is a period drama about Hollywood during its transition from silent films to talkies. Paramount and Chazelle are said to be in talks with actress Margot Robbie to take Stone’s place. The role would have Robbie opposite her Once Upon a Time in Hollywood co-star, Brad Pitt. Babylon is currently set to release on Christmas Day, 2021.
Although Stone cited “scheduling conflicts,” as her reason for leaving the film, it seems the actress might be taking some much-needed time off of her busy schedule to welcome her new baby. We’re sure that for this funny, talented, loving couple, parenting will be an Easy A.
