Disney+ series The Falcon And The Winter Soldier has set up plenty of story arcs in just a few episodes and one of those involves Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp). Even though playing the MCU characters has put Emily back in the headlines, it's only but one of the numerous great roles she has nabbed in her career.

Emily VanCamp started out as a child star—appearing in shows such as Redeemer, Dice, and All Souls—before making a successful transition to an adult star. To date, she is best known for starring in the ABC drama Revenge. Apart from acting, the Canadian actress is also a professional ballet dancer.

The town named Everwood is where his wife always wished to live. Though he is seeking peace, plenty of drama soon follows him and his children.

A teenage Emily VanCamp stars as Amy Abbot, the daughter of a rival doctor named Harold. She suffers a personal tragedy when he boyfriend dies, making her struggle with her own identity.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) - 7.7

The action-packed MCU movie sees Steve Rogers aka Captain America teaming up with Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow, Nick Fury, and Sam Wilson aka Falcon to get behind a major conspiracy inside the superhero spy agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Their obstacle? A highly skilled super-assassin known as Bucky Barnes the Winter Soldier.

Emily plays Sharon Carter, the great-niece of S.H.I.E.L.D. founder and Director Peggy Carter. In the movie, she is assigned by S.H.I.E.L.D. to spy on Steve Rogers.

Beyond The Blackboard (2011) - 7.7

Set in 1987, the movie's plot revolves around a young teacher named Stacey (Emily VanCamp) who takes up a job at a school for the homeless after finishing college. Though the school has no name and Stacey is getting no monetary benefit despite having two kids to support, she remains focused on making a difference.

With the full support of her husband, Emily braves all challenges to give the children the best education they deserve. The Hallmark Hall Of Fame movie is also the last in a trilogy.

The Resident (2018 to Present)  - 7.7

Like procedural crime shows, medical dramas tend to attract plenty of viewers and The Resident is no different. The series is said to average 7 million viewers per episode. The plot delves into the professional and personal lives of the medical staff members at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital.

Emily VanCamp has a main role as an overqualified nurse named Nicolette "Nic" Nevin. This is her second main role after her breakout role in Revenge.

Revenge (2011 to 2015) - 7.8

The ABC show is what made Emily famous. With a plot inspired by the 1844 Alexandre Dumas' novel The Count of Monte Cristo, the series explores a class war revolving around the main character.

Emily keeps her name, playing a woman named Emily Thorne, who moves to a beach house next to a wealthy family. It soon emerges that her father was framed for treason by the wealthy family when she was a little girl. She now wants revenge but her plan doesn't go as smoothly as she expected.

Captain America: Civil War (2016) - 7.8

In the movie, the Avengers find themselves divided after the United Nations (UN) sets in motion a plan to pass a new rule which will allow the organization to have oversight over superheroes. This happens after several civilians are killed during a fight involving the Avengers. While some team members support the plan, others oppose it, leading to a civil war.

Emily once again appears as Sharon Carter. This time she is working for the CIA and is keen on assisting Steve Rogers. She also ends up having a brief romance with the hero.

The Falcon And The Winter Soldier (2021) - 7.9

The hottest Marvel production at the moment has some big names in it. One of them is Emily VanCamp who reprises her role as Sharon Carter aka Agent 13.

The new Disney+ series revolves around the Avenger Sam Wilson aka The Falcon and Bucky Barnes aka The Winter Soldier as they go after a special serum known as the Super Soldier Serum and a group of villains known as the Flag Smashers. Along the way, they interact with some former enemies and acquaintances, including Sharon.

Law & Order: SVU (1999-present) - 8.0

Law & Order: SVU (Special Victims Unit) prides itself in being one of the longest-running TV shows of all time. The procedural, which follows a group of detectives in New York, is currently in its 22nd season.

Emily makes her debut in the series as a 16-year-old girl named Charlotte. She is the daughter of a mob lawyer whose home was attacked, resulting in his wife being murdered. The lawyer insists that his daughter was a witness to the crime but she is unable to recall anything, thanks to excessive partying. This creates a big problem for the SVU team.

Radio Active (1998 to 2001) - 8.1

Canadian sitcom Radio Active is adapted from the Quebec French series Radio Enfer. It focuses on a group of Upper Redwood High students who run a school radio station known as Radio Active. Unfortunately for them, there is a teacher who is eager to make their life a living hell.

A very young Emily first appears in Season 3 where she plays a young girl named Becky Sue Drummond. Becky happens to be a bully. The gang thus does its best to stop her before she can harm one of their friends.

Are You Afraid Of The Dark (1990 - 2000) - 8.2

American Horror Story is undoubtedly the best horror anthology series to come out in recent times. Back in the '90s, Are You Afraid Of The Dark was a strong contender too. The series revolves around a group of teenagers known as the "Midnight Society." Each night, one of them tells a scary story. In 2019, the series was revived.

This was Emily VanCamp's first-ever on-screen role. She was part of a three-episode arc in Season 7, starting with the season premiere. She played a young girl named Peggy Gregory.
