He was a second-generation Cuban-American who worked for an oil company. Emilio is also survived by his wife, Billie, and daughter Chimene. "My mom, sister and I are deeply appreciative of the overwhelming outpouring of love and support during this difficult time for us and all of our family," Diaz said in a statement. "My dad was loved by so many people, and his humor and spirit will always live on in our hearts."

Nixon fights breast cancer with Komen

Sex and the City's Cynthia Nixon, who revealed this week on Good Morning America that she had a lumpectomy two years ago and then had almost seven weeks of radiation therapy, is teaming up with the Susan G. Komen foundation to raise breast cancer awareness. "As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, knowing my personal risk made me more aware and more empowered when I faced my own diagnosis," Nixon, 42, said in a statement. Nixon will serve as an ambassador for the organization and share her experiences in a series of Web videos.

Gibson has a stalker

Deborah Gibson has filed for a restraining order against a Spanish man who runs a fan club and who she says has followed her on concert tours and showed up at her door. She wants Bassas Jorge Puigdollers, 44, to be kept 100 yards away from her, stop trying to contact her and stop attending her concerts, the Associated Press reported Wednesday. "I wanted to use the fan club to help people who can't go see her to get autographs and photos," Puigdollers told the AP in Spanish, adding that the correct spelling and order of his name is Jordi Bassas Puigdollers. Gibson says Puigdollers showed up at her L.A. home on Sunday, prompting a call to police and an emergency protective order that expires Friday. Meanwhile, Gibson is scheduled to be at the Times building today to record a podcast with our gang from Stuck in the '80s.
