We decided to try this restaurant given that we received a coupon from our hotel for $70 off. Thinking that would cover almost one meal we were very wrong. This restaurant is very, very expensive. The food was good but I don't think I would...frequent this chain again. The smallest portion on the menu is a Filet Mignon of 6 ounces or 8 ounces, after that the smallest was 12 ounces. They need more 8 ounce options. We were seated in a booth which had curtains that could be drawn closed making it a more private and intimate setting. Given that the tables on each side of the aisleway were exactly opposite each other, closing the curtains would have been nice but they didn't even offer to do so. I found the music being played very loud and it wasn't just mood music that was playing. The service was very good and the restaurant was clean. Even with the discount we received out bill for two people with one alcoholic drink each was $200.More

Ruth’s Chris Niagara Falls Jan 2 2020 poor service, inflated prices...food was ok not fantastic which you would expect for what they charge. Steaks are close to $100 and that doesn’t include any sides. Almost $20 for a baked potato and a bowl of Brussels...sprouts. $23 for a small salad. They also charge a resort fee. We ate a The Keg New Years Eve and I didn’t notice any difference in the quality of food only the price. Apparently they also jack up the price compared to other locations.More

Went for dinner with a group of 18 on Saturday, January 11th and the experience was disappointing. I am a regular at Ruth's Chris in Toronto, and I have never had anything negative to say, as I have always had great experiences in the past....However, this experience was ridiculous. Our server was clearly unexperienced. Perhaps Ruth's Chris can step it up and have more than one server when there are larger groups. It was clear that our server was overwhelmed and impatient. When the food arrived, it sat for a few minutes whether it was a starter or the main. There were other servers standing idle just looking the food as it cooled! Might have been nice if they could have pitched in to help their co-worker. Your signature sizzle was a bare fizzle with every steak that arrived. Such a disappointment when I have heard 'the sizzle' you proclaim to be famous for in the past. 2 guests ordered the 5-course option and 2 courses were forgotten. The server eventually brought after being gently reminded, and even then she was annoyed. Perhaps a simple apology would have made a difference. For the almost $2000 bill, it was the biggest disappointing restaurant experience yet. Our family doesn't mind paying, but we like to see value in the food, ambiance and experience. Sorry darlin', we won't ever be back, nor will we ever recommend the Niagara Falls location.More

This is the second time, and probably last time I'll be dining with Ruth's Chris. I purchased a promotion, hoping to have a nice New Years Meal with my girlfriend. 1) When i was planning to buy the promotion, I called and asked if i...was able to use it on New Years Day. The call centre (reservation number) said yes - which I then proceeded to purchase, and when I walked in on the 30th, they told me no. 2) When I asked if our 3 prix voucher included multiple choices, the waitress brushed me off, and specified there was steak and potatoes and asparagus, that's it. 3) The whole night seemed rush and unprofessional, I couldn't even enjoy the food as much as i wanted, as the waitress just seemed to busy closing down than to give us proper service. Forget about service with a smile, we weren't even asked "if we wanted any drinks". Conclusion) As I said this is the second time I've gone, so i have nothing against Ruth's Chris, the food was great - steak came out great, cost was little expensive but expected. However, it's disappointing the staff on the outside would've brought down the brands image of great food and environment.More

We went for Valentine’s Day Dinner ... and both absolutely loved it ! We are local to NF & know there are several options but chose RC because we had never been ! Make sure You arrive early ! The whole building is an experience...in itself . You can grab a drink at the Bar or sit on couches & listen to the Live entertainment ! The Restaurant has several different “ areas “ to enjoy while you are eating too !! You can eat in a remote Quiet Spot w curtain booths OR you can eat in a more Happening area that actually has a DJ Spinning tunes ! This also has curtained booths or You can sit in a more central brighter & busier area too !! You can also eat at the front area where the Bar is . Not kidding ... this place is an experience ! When you reserve you should request your area We shared a Caesar Salad which was prepared table side The Steak & Lobster Dinner was unbelievable ! Best I’ve ever had ! The Lobster was so big that I only had 1 bite of my Steak ! The price was much higher than The Keg BUT the quality was much much better & the portions are much larger ! There is no reason not to share an app & entree ! They never charged us to split the salad which sometimes happens at pricier places Staff was excellent as was the floor Manager Dori ~ Thanks for a Wonderful Nite We will be back ❤️More

We came for a light lunch on a cold day after seeing the falls for our wedding anniversary. The staff were so polite and gave us a glass of champagne as it was our anniversary. At this point 11/10 for perfect !! We ordered a...burger and fries and a couple of appetisers for my wife as she couldn’t find much she could eat. At this point there was literally us and one other couple as the restaurant had just opened. Food took nearly 50 mins to arrive !!! My burger was cremated and the bun was cold. Clearly it’d been sitting there overcooking for ages. Quality was really bad and such a long wait. We were so disappointed. By the time we got out food we were close to having to leave time wise so we didn’t send our food back. When we got the bill and it was $80 for a couple of bad quality plates of food we were even more annoyed. We still tipped 10% even though frankly there was nothing to tip for. I have no problem tipping for good food and good service but apart from the lovely champagne on arrival everything else sucked. As we only tipped 10% the waitress was pretty rude and sarcastically said have a good day. Shame really, we don’t feel good about that place now. If the food was not 50 mins and wasn’t cremated we would have tipped well. Won’t be back I’m afraidMore

I purchased a coupon for connected hotel and Ruth’s Chris. We were asked when we arrived at 6 50 for our 7:00 reservation whether we had a coupon or not. We told then yes we had a coupon. We were then seated in the lounge...area. At 730 after patiently waiting half an hour my husband went up and asked when we would be seated as our reservations were for 7:00 p.m. The staff person stated 10 more minutes. At 8:00 we were still not seated. While we were spitting there we watched at least 20 to 30 other persons get seated that just walked in( I’m almost certain they did not hold coupons as we did and could have easily left if they were made to wait whereas we couldn’t since our coupons were pre purchased) . At 815 still waiting..my husband again went up to the desk and was given 2 fee drink coupons. Which was the only “positive “ part of our experience here. At 8:45 almost 2 hours after our reservation we were finally seated. Our server was rushed and was not overly friendly . We had to choose 2entrees with our prepaid coupon. 85.00 a steak..which was their minimum charge!! Any side was extra. A baked potatoe was 17.00!! As was any vegetable aside!!! Unbelievable!! We don’t mind paying for fine dining when the service is good and the pricing is fair. For the extremely poor service and outrageous prices we would definitely not ever go back and would highly recommend others considering Do Not Go!! Ruth’s Chris you should be ashamed of your service and prices.More

We came here because the Keg was close for dine in and we wanted to go out for dinner the first night we arrived to Niagara. We also had a $70 coupon as part of Groupon package so we decided to come here as we...had a good experience at Ruth’s in Toronto before. Transparently the food was not terrible but the price is too high for the quality of the food, along with the extra fee they have which also threw me off. I understand that restaurants prices are increased in Niagara but there were honestly also limited options in the more average price range especially when Ruth’s entree do not come with any sides. My bf ordered prime rib in medium rare which he did have to send back as it was too rare and I got the filet with shrimp which I did enjoy. Overall I don’t think we will return to this location anytime soon if we are in Niagara due to price point and also, I wouldn’t say their customer service was bad but just gave me a colder vibe, perhaps it was due to a quiet night during covid but it really felt like the workers just wanted to get the evening over with and be done.More

Skip this place. We’ve been the Ruth’s Chris before and this place is not worth the name at all. Our waitress was VERY friendly , but the other staff in the restaurant were very loud, and overall just complaining about schedules etc.. also a lot...of loud chit chatting while we were trying to eat our meal. Not at all the typical atmosphere of a high end restaurant. One of our steaks was burnt (but we didn’t say anything ). The food was just OK, not at all worth the $400 we paid including tip (for 2 people). We ate at Morton’s up the street the night before and had a much better meal and service for 1/4 of the price. I would compare this restaurant to a lower to mid class steak house.More

This place is wildly overpriced for the quality of service and food that you get. The service was okay, but definitely not what you expect from a place that would have you spend $130 on a filet mignon - and that’s just the meat, as...vegetables or sides are sold separately. For example, it took a while for us to even get waters. The bread tasted like leather and we didn’t eat it. Also, in such a “fancy” restaurant, they should be asking what type of alcohol you’d like in your drinks as many people have preferences for types of vodka, bourbon, etc. Also, I was told that they would charge me for the 8 oz filet if I got the 11 oz, because they had run out of the 8. Then, after ordering, the waiter told me he in fact could not charge me for the smaller filet and would have to charge the $130 for the 11 oz. He then stood there in front of me as I tried to decide between the other overpriced cuts of meat.. none of which appealed to me. Honestly, I would have just ordered a salad, but in order to use our $100 coupon, you had to buy two entrees. Even if you have a coupon, you will be spending more than you should be. As for the food, the quality was not great. They bring your steaks out on plates that are 500 degrees, rendering your rare or medium rare decision useless. As soon as you get your steak, it continues cooking on the plate the entire meal. You’re lucky if your first and second bites are medium rare.. everything after that will be medium to well done. Their one saving grace was giving us 20% off when we brought this up to our waiter. Honestly, the fact that the meat comes out alone with nothing else on the plate is just ridiculous for what you’re paying. The mashed potatoes we had to order separately were dry and overpriced as well. All in all, we won’t be back. We are people who have spent over $300 on a steak in Vegas, and are always willing to pay for quality food and service. However, this was our second time at Ruth’s Chris in Niagara, hoping there would be some changes or that we could use our coupon to eat a few sides or apps with our drinks. Nope. Not worth it, at all. I would sooner go to the Keg where you get more for your money and your steak stays the way you want it cooked.More

We arrived at Chris Ruth's Steakhouse around 8:00 pm. We looked at the menu which appeared very overpriced however, given it was highly rated and a steakhouse we assumed the food would be excellent. Upon deciding what we wanted we were told that side dished...did not come with the meal, they were all ordered separately but would have enough for two people. While there Steak is their focus dish we both decided to order prime rib. The prime rib was mediocre at best. I would highly recommend not ordering it. I've had better prime rib at buffets. The prime rib alone was over $80. We ordered spicy shrimp to start and Brussel sprouts which were probably the only enjoyable thing about the dining experience. We ordered the Cesar salad which was overdressed, and had a strange tasted, it was unappetizing and we did not eat it. All and all it was an unpleasant dining experience. With restaurants such as The Keg, and Copacabana steakhouse so close I would reconsider your options. I will never eat here again. Our meal cost about $400More

I Thought It Was a Fancy Applebee’s. Could not have been anymore wrong! This was probably the best dining experience I’ve had in my entire life. I ended up going here with my bf only because we got a $100 discount from our hotel for...a tragic toilet flood on Valentines Day. Firstly, I could not believe how fancy this place was, and secondly, I was in shock about how BIG this restaurant is. But each table has such a nice amount of privacy. The staff was phenomenal. Polite and very professional. The food was extremely expensive. It was the first time in my entire life I’ve had a $55 dish. My bf had the $85 steak. All together, we racked up a $230 bill. It was such a phenomenal dining experience though. We ate everything they put on our table lol. The food was sooo good. Personally, I loved the sweet/hot pepper addition with the stuffed garlic/lemon butter chicken. Probably not a place we will be visiting again soon with the prices of the dishes. However, it was such a memorable meal and one of the highlights of our Valentines Day weekend in Niagara Falls. Truly enjoyable. My one and only complaint was the music. Lots of Justin Beiber, Shawn Mendes and other pop artists. For some reason, some of the songs ended up being really loud and we were kind of having to shout to talk to each other from across the table. Some quieter, classy music would have been better suited to the meal. But overall, so impressed with Ruth Chris!!More

Service was good. Prices are beyond outrageous. $222 for 2 steaks (6 oz & 8 oz) and 1 side to share. Water to drink. Steak had so much butter on it that I couldn’t taste anything else. I’ve had better for 1/4 the price. I...understand everything in Niagara is overpriced but this took it to another level, and honestly just wasn’t the quality I’d expect from a steakhouse even at “normal” prices.More

We booked Ruth's Chris for our anniversary dinner and getaway weekend in Niagra Falls based on very positive experiences at Ruth's in Toronto and several US cities. While we expected to pay premium prices for premium meals, we were shocked to find prices fully out...of line with local high-end competitors and Toronto. I guess we should have been suspicious when Ruth's Niagra Falls didn't post prices on their online menu. Unlike, Toronto's and other locations which are transparent. But when we asked when we made the reservation weeks in advance, we were told they were comparable to Toronto. Had it not been our anniversary, a cold February night and uncertainty about finding another venue, we would have walked out when we saw the prices were 50% higher than Toronto. For example, $225 for our porterhouse for two vs $150. Further, the prices quoted for $CAD were considerably higher than $USD, even accounting for a generous exchange rate. Charging Canadians higher prices in Canada! To make matters worse, the meat was slightly better than one would find at Montana's, well below other Ruth's locations or comparables like Mortons or Barbarians. Overly marbled and grizzled. Further, although our waiter was polite, attentive and competent, several times during the meal he and a colleague carried on loud discussions in the aisle adjacent to our table. We were looking forward to a quiet, romantic dinner, not constant discussions about which waiter would take the next table or swap shifts next week, let alone telling off-color jokes. We will not return to this Ruth's, and quite reluctantly have removed this chain from our best-of list.More
