This place is wildly overpriced for the quality of service and food that you get. The service was okay, but definitely not what you expect from a place that would have you spend $130 on a filet mignon - and that’s just the meat, as...vegetables or sides are sold separately.
For example, it took a while for us to even get waters. The bread tasted like leather and we didn’t eat it. Also, in such a “fancy” restaurant, they should be asking what type of alcohol you’d like in your drinks as many people have preferences for types of vodka, bourbon, etc. Also, I was told that they would charge me for the 8 oz filet if I got the 11 oz, because they had run out of the 8.
Then, after ordering, the waiter told me he in fact could not charge me for the smaller filet and would have to charge the $130 for the 11 oz. He then stood there in front of me as I tried to decide between the other overpriced cuts of meat.. none of which appealed to me. Honestly, I would have just ordered a salad, but in order to use our $100 coupon, you had to buy two entrees. Even if you have a coupon, you will be spending more than you should be.
As for the food, the quality was not great. They bring your steaks out on plates that are 500 degrees, rendering your rare or medium rare decision useless. As soon as you get your steak, it continues cooking on the plate the entire meal. You’re lucky if your first and second bites are medium rare.. everything after that will be medium to well done. Their one saving grace was giving us 20% off when we brought this up to our waiter. Honestly, the fact that the meat comes out alone with nothing else on the plate is just ridiculous for what you’re paying. The mashed potatoes we had to order separately were dry and overpriced as well.
All in all, we won’t be back. We are people who have spent over $300 on a steak in Vegas, and are always willing to pay for quality food and service. However, this was our second time at Ruth’s Chris in Niagara, hoping there would be some changes or that we could use our coupon to eat a few sides or apps with our drinks. Nope. Not worth it, at all. I would sooner go to the Keg where you get more for your money and your steak stays the way you want it cooked.More
