This is a very strange case.
There was a quite remarkable segment (about 22 minutes) on iPM, a BBC Radio 4 programme, about the murder 50 years ago of Elsie Frost. It is well worth listening to.
There are several oddities following on from this:
-
It is difficult to find out about the case online - there is no Wikipedia entry, not even a one-liner in the list of British unsolved murders, and no even reasonably detailed account that I can find (from a UK IP address);
-
A Google search returns, at the bottom, "Some results may have been removed under data protection law in Europe", which refers to the infamous and, in my opinion, iniquitous "right to forget";
-
Official records have been suppressed for a very long time. The radio programme said 2042 but I have found one suppressed until 2060.
