Building off its U.K. predecessor, NBC's mockumentary-style comedy The Office is a seminal sitcom of the early 2000s. Led by Steve Carell as the irreverent, well-meaning boss/dunce Michael Scott, The Office followed the lives of employees at Dunder Mifflin Paper Co. from 2005-2013, earning 42 Emmy nominations (and five wins) along the way.
