S. Elizabeth Lockman
S. Elizabeth Lockman (Democratic Party) (also known as Tizzy) is a member of the Delaware State Senate, representing District 3. She assumed office on November 7, 2018. Her current term ends on November 5, 2024.
Lockman (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Delaware State Senate to represent District 3. She won in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Biography
Representative Lockman was raised in Wilmington, Delaware and graduated from A.I DuPont High School in 1997. She subsequently earned a degree in film and linguistics from New York University and a master’s degree in urban affairs and public policy from University of Delaware. Early in her career, she served as a program manager for the Hearts & Minds Film Initiative of Serviam Media. After this, she served as president of parent teacher association at Highlands Elementary School. Prior to her election to the Delaware Assembly, she was appointed to serve on the Wilmington Education Advisory Committee in 2014.[1]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about?
I have been a public education advocate for over a decade - I care very much about achieving equitable access to quality education for all children in our public schools. I believe our public schools should be strong and that we all benefit, socially and academically, when they are.
What characteristics or principles are most important for an elected official?
I think humility, transparency and the ability to listen to a wide variety of perspectives, are all very important qualities.
What qualities do you possess that you believe would make you a successful officeholder?
I am committed to the improving communities for the people within them and have a solid history of working on and studying policy which demonstrates this.
