Jim Polk is an American writer and currently stands as the ex-husband of poet Margaret Eleanor Atwood. Jim used to be married to Margaret. They fell in love with each other and soon began a romantic relationship. Jim eventually asked for Margaret’s hand in marriage.
Jim Polk and Margaret Atwood became husband and wife officially in the year 1968. They were married until they got divorced in 1973 after a marriage of 5 years. Their childless marriage was unable to last for a decade. The reason for their separation is unknown.
According to sources, Margaret Atwood has described her Montreal wedding as having a “faintly shambolic and surreal quality that would later inform the comical episode of Joan Foster’s marriage ceremony in Lady Oracle”.
