Dorothy Marie Clausen, 98, of Arthur, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Arthur United Methodist Church, 128 E. Illinois, with Pastor Jill Bunker officiating. Burial will follow in the Arthur Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:30 a.m. until funeral service at the church. Shrader Funeral Home, Arthur, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dorothy was born April 6, 1924 in Arthur, the daughter of Sylvia Cruse and Ernest Aschermann. She was united in marriage to Lloyd J. Clausen on January 1, 1944 in Arthur; he preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughter, Jerelyn (Michael) Green of Arthur; two grandsons, Cory M. Green of Tuscola, Justin D. (Monica) Green of Arthur; two great granddaughters, Makenna J. Green of Arthur, Madison L. Green of Tuscola; two great grandsons, Jace D. Green and Beau M. Green both of Arthur.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvia and Ernest Aschermann; son, Gary N. Clausen; husband, Lloyd J. Clausen; brother, Junior Aschermann; sister-in-law, Cynthia Aschermann; and sister, Virginia Aschermann.
Dorothy was a graduate of Arthur High School and Dickinson Secretarial College. She worked for her father as a secretary at the Aschermann Ford Garage in Arthur.
She was a member of the Arthur United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Kaskaskia Country Club. Dorothy was an avid bridge player. She loved her home, the farm, and had a deep passion for her family.
Memorials are suggested to the Arthur United Methodist Church Beautification Fund.
