age 77. Met Jesus face to face on Wednesday, May 6, 2020. Beloved husband of seven years to Katherine "Kay" (nee Casella); loving son of the late Edward Francis and Mary Loretta Winters (nee Slattery); cherished brother of Mary Ellen McGarry (Michael, deceased), Sister Ann Winters, OSU, Catherine O'Malley (John, deceased) and Rita Krebs (Richard, deceased); brother-in-law of Susan Kenzig (Stephen, deceased), David Casella, Michael Casella, Shirley Alarie (Francis) and Patricia Walker (Jeffrey); loving uncle of 34 nieces and nephews and proud friend and mentor to many. Ed's strong love of faith and family led him to a life of love and service to others. He was a high school English and Video Production teacher at John F. Kennedy High for 30 years. His Peart Production Company produced audios and videos which inspired, motivated and educated with a focus on Peace on Earth through the Sacred Heart. Ed was a longtime member of the St. Vincent DePaul Society helping others in need and was awarded their highest honor in 2015. He loved his faith and was a member of the Serra Club promoting and encouraging religious vocations. Ed was a board member of both Womankind and Hail Holy Queen Communications for many years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to the Alzheimer's Association, 23215 Commerce Park, Suite 300, Beachwood, OH 44122 or Sacred Heart of Jesus Parish, 1545 So. Green Rd., South Euclid, OH 44121. A funeral service for immediate family will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, May 12, 2020 at Schulte & Mahon-Murphy Funeral Home. Ed was my best friend from John f. Kennedy High School. He did so much for Kennedy and really loved teaching there. But I also know him as a friend who had such a strong faith and was more saintlike than anybody I know.
