Kate Winslet’s husband Ned Rocknroll is changing his last name.

The Titanic star will no longer be Mrs. Rocknroll – a name we highly doubt ever suited her.

Ned has reportedly decided to reverse his name change as the couple, who married in 2012, raise their five-year Bear Blaze together.

According to The Sun, Richard Branson’s nephew, 41, has changed his name from Ned Rocknroll back to Edward Abel Smith as ‘he wants to set an example’ to his young one.

He also admitted that not wanting to embarrass the young lad had a lot to do with it.

A source told The Sun: ‘It was always a bit of a joke. He is a very happy-go-lucky person.

‘He never takes life that seriously but sometimes life changes and now he wants to be a bit more serious.

‘He decided to change it back to Smith because he is now a dad and wants to set an example. Kate also felt it might be embarrassing for their child as he got older.’

Metro.co.uk have contacted reps for Kate for comment.

This isn’t the only change that Kate’s household will have to face as the star is believed to be opening the doors to her £4.1 million beachside home in West Wittering for filming on her new drama Blackbird.

The Mail On Sunday claims Kate’s eight-bedroom home in West Sussex will serve as the setting for the film so that she doesn’t have to leave her family.

‘Kate wants to stay close to home for the sake of her family,’ their source explained.

‘She’s been joking about how she won’t have to go to work – work will come to her.’

The upcoming drama stars Diane Keaton as a mother intent on getting her two daughters (played by Winslet and Mia Wasikowska) together before she dies.

It is a remake of Danish language film Silent Heart.

Kate also looks after daughter Mia, 17, and Joe, 14, and previously insisted that the children are ‘never flown from pillar to post’ or looked after by nannies.

Kate and Ned met during a fire at Branson’s home in 2011 during Hurricane Irene.

‘I met my husband in a house fire,’ she told Entertainment Tonight.

‘He was the only dude who had a head torch and a pair of shoes. Everyone else left everything behind. I took a bra and our passports, and my children.

‘So I married him – I was like, I’ll go for the guy with the head torch.’

Kate had initially taken the trip with on-off boyfriend model Louis Dowler.

In July, the businessman recalled how Kate ‘stayed on a couple of days’ in Necker Island where she met Ned, and fell in love with him.

‘She fell in love,’ Branson declared in July. ‘Because of the fire she stayed on an extra couple of days to help out and fell in love with my nephew and got a beautiful child by it.’
