The three actors effortlessly bring this film to life with their outstanding performances and palpable chemistry, transforming what could easily have been a fairly one-noted drama into a much more engaging journey of power, ambition, and romance.

Birdsong is quite unlike anything else in Redmayne's portfolio. At a surprising 165 minutes in length, the film tells a sprawling tale of love, pain, and grief that aims to take the audience through as many emotions as possible throughout its lengthy runtime.

There are very few musicals whose themes and ideas feel just as relevant today as they did upon conception, but Les Misérables remains one of those few. The story is filled with emotional and political commentary that Hooper brings to life in his adaptation.

The film boasts a hugely talented ensemble, such as Jeremy Strong, Sacha Baron Cohen, and Mark Rylance, in the most memorable roles. Sorkin's film does everything that a legal drama should, whilst also offering a healthy serving of political commentary that landed at exactly the right time.
