Nestled in a remote and tranquil setting, Eco Beach Resort captivates guests with its breathtaking natural surroundings and serene ambiance. While the staff's friendliness often receives accolades for enhancing the stay, some visitors suggest that service can be inconsistent. Accommodations are commended for their cleanliness and modern touch, yet guests warn that the rooms may lack certain amenities and don't always justify the high cost. Despite the variety of activities available, the resort's value is questioned, with calls for improved dining options and better maintenance of camp kitchen facilities.

We went there with low expectations given the average reviews over the last year or so, mainly due to the fact the facilities were quite weathered and needed replacement/refurbishment. However, the owner had obviously commenced this refurbishment process and it was well underway by the time we arrived. The resort is a beautiful and well thought out establishment. We stayed in an ocean front villa and although our ocean views were perhaps just ocean glimpses, the atmosphere was magic. The villas are not really family friendly, as they appear to be only one room with the rest of the family having to sleep on the lounge couch and/or roll out beds. The bathroom can only be accessed through the bedroom, so it is really open-house living conditions. Nevertheless, it is all pretty doable and the main thing, quite comfortable. Easy access via boardwalks is provided to the club house that has the pool and restaurant. The club house has a stunning view of the bay that can be enjoyed whilst at the pool or in the bar or restaurant. You have all the facilities to self cater in your villa and if you don't want to have to use the communal BBQ and kitchen, you can order a Weber BBQ to your villa. However, you may have to order the BBQ pack for this, but it is well priced and therefore good value. We did this and also ate in the restaurant quite frequently, The restaurant is good although the menu is a bit limited and lacks lite fresh food, the quality is excellent and the service is very good. The resort appears to be very lucky this year as they have secured very good staff (the foreign youngsters on working visas) and these people were all not only amazing, but very efficient. There seems to be quite a bit of activities offered, from kayaking to fishing to walking to helicopter rides. We did the fishing trip under the guidance of the traditional owner of the land and this was quite an amazing experience that did not require having to go out in a boat. In conclusion, this resort is great place to get away to and to get your youngsters off those wretched screens due to no WIFI being available (although there is phone reception, so provided you are happy to use the network for your data transfer).

A really unexpectedly good experience at Eco Beach. We had a Sunset View Eco Tent - definitely worth the extra over the garden view, they are spaced out more and catch more breeze where they are.

Tents are large, well appointed and equipped and immaculately clean. They are tents though - so if you can’t bear the thought of meeting the occasional bug or cute little gecko, maybe go for a villa. Tents only have an esky (icebox/cooler) and no fridge, but a bag of ice is included in the room rates and more ice can be purchased from reception. Also, 240v power sockets are available but wattage is limited to about 450W, plugging in a hairdryer will trip the circuit and you’ll have to ask reception to reset it.

There is no WIFI but you will get limited Telstra and Vodafone reception depending on where you are, however I would recommend switching devices off and unplugging for a bit!

The facilities, staff and location are top notch, we couldn’t have asked for better. Staff in particular were always helpful, pleasant and professional, everyone seemed extremely well trained.

Given the location and remoteness we expected the bar and restaurant to be overpriced - it was actually excellent value and extremely good quality, far better than most of the meals we had in Broome. The menu rotates regularly and had plenty of choices. Breakfast and lunch menus are simpler but also have heaps of choice and are also well priced.

Hire of paddle craft is free and there are a good number of hammocks in shaded cabanas on the beach. Free yoga sessions at 8am and 4pm were a great way to start the day or ease into a chilled evening. We stayed 2 nights and wish we had booked for more.

This was my second trip to Eco Beach Resort in 6 months.
This is a small, relaxed resort located on an isolated coastline 120km south of Broome
It never feels crowded and the area boasts stunning beach and Kimberly colours of blue sea and orange cliffs.
The staff are friendly and welcoming. They took time to chat with me if I was sitting on my own for a meal which I really appreciated.
Guests mingle easily making it the perfect location for singles, couples or families
There is only one restaurant and no other food outlets in the area. Self catering is limited. The food is a little pricey however there is a good choice and this time I felt that the quality of the food was improved.
The resort offers a few activities including yoga twice daily with Lisa who is an excelling instructor, fishing trips, sunset canapés and mud and bubbles.
There is also a day spa and massage service. I had a great massage with Rosie.
The accommodation ranges from eco tents for those who like clamping to modern, spacious, air conditioned villas all nestled in the surrounding native bushland around the resort.
April is a great time to be in the area as it is not so humid or hot and the nights are cooler.
I have already booked my next trip

It’s impossible not to relax at this resort and it’s the perfect location to unwind.

End of October turned out to be a peaceful time to visit as not so busy.

We chose to stay in an eco tent (Tent 54) for the experience and were not disappointed! It was basically fitted out, but had all that we really needed. The bed was extremely comfortable and the fan (on 24/7) coupled with the open windows of the tent was enough to keep us cool, although I imagine this would be less effective in hotter temperatures.

In and around the infinity pool was the perfect place to hang and stare at the ocean. While the pool isn’t very big, so would probably be less relaxing during peak season, we often had it to ourselves!

There are self-catering options in the villas and a very basic camp kitchen for tent residents, but you have to bring all your supplies with you.

Jack’s Bar and Restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is available for refreshments in between. We chose this option, more costly but we were on holiday! The menu didn’t change for the 3 nights we were there, so we got to sample most of it, and the food is really good, especially the sweet potato wedges, fresh fish and pumpkin and goat’s cheese tart (dinner menu).

Filtered water (sparkling or still) is available to refill BYO bottles and was really refreshing.

Stand up paddle boards and kayaks are available to guests, you just have to sign a waiver. There are also hammocks to hang out on the beach and tours available. Or, you can just choose to do as we did and just chill!

We stayed in a glamping tent to enjoy a 'getting back to nature experience', and unwind from our busy lives. The location couldn't be much more perfect, overlooking a beautiful bay with stretches of long sandy beaches one way, and some cool bays and cliffs to explore if you take a walk the other way. The food was of good quality (a little pricey but can expect that in remote locations), and the wait staff were all very friendly and attentive, and seemed to be happy. We were however unlucky with our timing, and I go back to my first sentence about wanting to get back to nature for a few days. There was a wedding party taking up part of the resort during our stay, and our peaceful nights were instead replaced with the sounds of a late night music rave for the wedding, which was impossible to sleep through. My big criticism to the resort (which I did raise to the reception while there), is how this could not have been communicated to other guests staying there, and it completely went against the ethos of the place, as somewhere to escape the hustle and noises of daily life. I'd hope this is not a practice the resort would continue, and they will communicate better with their paying guests in future.

Decided we needed a quick recharge so had 4 nights in a Garden Villa. We found the room to be surface clean, but full of mosquitoes. A thorough spray sorted that out but was so glad we bought 2 cans of tropical strength aero guard as you could not go outside without being attacked at anytime. Was to be expected this time of year after a bit of rain. We came prepared with all our food and an electric frypan, and though we intentions of having some meals in the restaurant, the dinner menu was very lean, so we didn’t. The lunch menu looked the best but we didn’t try. The pool was lovely but small for the amount of people using it and found the number of smallish children a bit off putting. I think it’s time to put in a second pool, maybe kid free, to handle the number of guests, would hate to see it if the tents were in use. Back to the room, the fan in the bedroom didn’t work and the air conditioner was struggling to cool down, though the air conditioner in the living area was lovely and cool. The fridge is tiny so was glad we bought an Engel and esky to assist. The lounge had seen better days and the outside lounges were covered with what looked like bird poo. Went to turn the cushions over and it was the same on the other side. It is advertised that the room would get refreshed after 3 nights but that didn’t happen. The staff are extremely nice and helpful but are seriously undermanned for the number of guests. The wifi was a bit hit and miss in the villa, but did hear others couldn’t get it at all in there villas. I would be pushing to give this resort a 4 star rating, maybe there would be more attention given if it wasn’t the wet season and it had staff numbers to support the number of guests.

We had planned to be here in March, though the world changed and we finally got to de-stress and unwind on a heavenly beach, far away from the crazy months prior. This was just the perfect therapy required for us and daughter with her school pal who had just completed Uni exams.
The resort location was unbelievably tranquil and the staff were incredibly attentive yet non intrusive Far away from the world and it’s recent dramas. Heavenly! How lucky are we in Australia to have locations such as Eco beach resort at our doorstep. Just as the name suggests, earthy and eco friendly. No airs and graces, just a true Australian escape from the ‘rat race’.

This was our second visit , the previous in peak season .
Sure the peak season was probably more comfortable with full service but we knew what we were getting .
Beach is amazing , villas are fantastic . Knew we had to take our own food this time but plenty of fridge space between camp kitchen and fridge in the villa . Service from Dave was great on checkin , checkout and fir coffees etc .
The only downside is the wifi ... either have it and make it fast and usable or just don’t bother ...but when you arrive and told wifi you expect it to work .
If no wifi I would’ve downloaded a few movies for the kids to watch late evening but falsely believe they had it .
Beach walks are amazing .. do yourself a favour and drive the hour out of broome to visit . Day visitors are also welcome .

This place is so tired and run down its really disappointing to see. From the curtains in our room having huge holes in them too the general board walks around the facility and everything in between if it has been "fixed" its been done very poorly. Sheets and rooms cleaned every 3 day, pool was never cleaned during out stay disgusting amounts of hair floating around and sand in the pool.

Worst of all being that nobody told us to bring any food or drinks we were basically held at their mercy having nowhere to go to buy food or drinks other than them hugely over priced dinners and no lunch option other than 2 different pre made wraps because there was no chef for lunch. It would have been nice to know all this BEFORE we got there. Overall majorly disappointing resort.

My friend and I started here for 2 nights with no real plan or expectations. We found that there wasn’t really very much to do there but relax, which was hard for us at first. The resort has some free stand up paddle boards, kayaks & boogie boards for guests to use. There was also a cave walk we did, but that didn’t take very long & we were back to relaxing. If you’re looking for lots to do, don’t spend too much time here.

My friend and I stayed in one of the Eco Tents. The tents were very spacious & clean! I was super impressed with the en-suite - didn’t expect it to be so proper. The resort provides you with towels, including beach/pool towels for the duration of your stay. Side note - beware of the frogs in your toilet!! Keep your toilet cover closed so you don’t find them leaping around in your room!

There were A LOT of mosquitoes & sand flies around so be mindful. The resort provides Aeroguard but this was not strong enough for me. Would recommend Bushmans. Especially if you’re planning on watching the beautiful sunset, followed by star gazing on the beach.

The food was also very good & very reasonably priced! They also do take away drinks at take away prices. So you can use the esky (that they also provide, along with a bag of ice!) and take your drinks down to the beach!

There are only 8 permanent shelters with hammocks on the beach, so you’ll need to get there early to get a spot. Otherwise you’ll have no shelter.

There is also a bbq area for you to bring your own meats/food to cook, or you can buy a bbq platter from the resort!

Overall, the resort was great for the money we spent. Personally, we found that 2 nights was more than enough, especially if you’re as active as we are.

Is there a shop where you can buy food to prepare in villa?
Answer from EcoReception
Broome, Australia
HI 315Liz, Thank you for your question. As mentioned above we do not have a shop as such. we do however sell icecreams, chips, drinks and have few emergency items for sale like toothbrush and sunscreen. If you are planning to self cater you will need to do a shop in Broome before coming down. Kind regards Eco Beach

The ‘pink’ shuttle bus runs once a day from the airport & takes about an hour to get to the Resort. Times depend on demand & are approx $45 one way. If you email the team at the resort they will be able to confirm further 😊
Answer from Charmaine C

I would suggest staying overnight in Broome if arriving late and then travelling on their shuttle the following day. That way you get to spend more day time hours in your accommodation. Hiring a car is an option but a waste of money in my view. Once you are at Eco Beach you wont be driving anywhere.
