The school has completely changed and they care more about being inclusive than the quality of education. The sociology department is terrible and the three classes I took were taught at about a sixth-grade level. All professors used material that was 20 years old, anecdotal evidence, or biased information. This is no longer education it's about indoctrinating the youth to hate straight males, whites, marriage, America, capitalism or any other thing that the professor feels is right.
Within the first two weeks of class, I had professors showing up late or not at all. For Professor Elizabeth Ortega and Dr. LaQuita Jones, it seemed more like a paycheck. Dr. Jones stated during class she was working three part-time teaching positions and was cutting corners. She was using another instructor's PowerPoint and the information provided during lecture was someone else's work or her quoting someone else. She also wanted us to bring 3x5 cards so that she could put a sticker on them for attendance reasons. For someone making $181,192.00 and $196,214.00 in pay and benefits, this is not an acceptable way of teaching.
Resources outside the school if you get the run around from ombuds (Paulina P Palomino) or the sociology department chairperson (Marcel Morales Ed.D) like I was. For someone making $238,921.00 and $289,350.00 in pay and benefits, this is not an acceptable way to treat students.

On a side note, the former dean was caught embezzling:

Attached are complaints against Professor Elizabeth Ortega and Dr. LaQuita Jones for inappropriate and disrespectful behavior. The department/ school is ignoring these problems thinking they will go away because it's just some student complaining. But when you spend $905,677 in salary and benefits for what's being taught this is the least of your problems. This and some of the problems mentioned above are what's causing a decline in enrollment. - Niko N.San Diego, CA23620Jan 14, 2024
Came here for my nephews Poly Bowl game. It's a nice typical college field. You enter the stadium thru the tunnels on the bottom. Restrooms are pretty bad. Stalls are really short so you can literally see the person next to you. Aren't bathroom stalls suppose to be made for privacy? Wear something warm if you're on the home side because it gets really cold in the shade.

Why are there counselling hours and a phone number when there is no counselor at all? No one is picking up the phone straight to voicemail. You can't even get an appointment? Serious accounts needs to be taken and students should be taken care off. If no one is picking up the phone calls or are in the webinar, then the website should remove counselling hours

ELAC! I want to go see a basketball game, after they showed up on Netflix! Really cool. This is a nice campus sprawled in the area.
I think they did a great job with Covid testing and Covid vaccination as a site. Really, great organization and thank you for allowing your campus to be used to help so much of the community. Very nice staff, and I believe during the height, it was military personnel.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 1 - Becca L.Woodland Hills, San Fernando Valley, CA06Sep 18, 2023

This review is not about the college. It's about the Covid-19 testing that was held at the college.
I made an appointment online and selected the time and the place.
I got here at 8:30 am my appointment time was 9 am i arrived early and didn't know what to expect. I was the 2nd car in line. By 8:45 more cars started coming and began to line up.
9 am on the dot they started letting cars drive in at the check point you were asked to show ID and the Appointment Confirmation number. You were give a packet with your ID number in it. Then you were instructed to drive up to one of the numbered stalls.
Instructions were given in so you're going to do the testing inside of your car. In about 5 minutes the testing was done and you were to drop the packet into the container before driving off. Easy Peesee.
Your results will be sent to you in 3 days. And if you tested Positive they will call you.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cece G.Bassett, La Puente, CA0433Aug 25, 2022
The offices are still closed and their excuse is Covid. However, whenever I call ANY office- no one answers!! Emails take forever to respond. Idk who is working here but they are the only community college whose admissions and counseling dept is not open. Lazy lazy lazy

ELAC is the biggest college from the LACCD family. Most Professors have been great and I've enjoyed my time here. It really depends on you as a student to make the most of it. I initially didn't use the resources available on campus but, once I started to focus more on school I realized I was missing out. Once the COVID-19 pandemic hit, I started to use the campus resources available to me virtually and it made me a better student. I've enjoyed my time here and graduated June 2021. Go Huskies!
