East Greenwich is lovely with plenty of restaurants and shops as well as a convenient location.
However, if you are thinking of moving to East Greenwich from an area with outstanding schools, you will be disappointed with what you find here.
East Greenwich School District has an excellent reputation in Rhode Island. While EG may compare favorably to other Rhode Island schools, the schools here in EG leave a lot to be desired. There are many outstanding teachers, but in recent years, most of the schools have had a revolving door of administrators. Students score below 50% in math and only 65ish% in reading in state testing. The school buildings are crumbling, though there is a construction bond in place to improve the schools that should be completed by maybe 2030. Bullying is rampant and unaddressed. Many send their kids to private schools outside of the district. Be warned.

I really enjoyed my time at East Greenwich and felt like the teachers were there to support me through my academic endeavors.
EG has some really good teachers. My best school experience was in the high school. It’s a competitive environment so it can be stressful too
