Digitally remastered and expanded three disc (two CDs + PAL/Region 0 DVD) edition. Dusty Springfield's late career renaissance owed it's triumphs more than a little to her collaborations with the Pet Shop Boys, a partnership that resulted in four tracks being written by them and five tracks being co-produced by them for her 1990 album Reputation. This collector's edition includes the original album, all known extended versions and remixes, the b-sides from the singles released from it and the promotional videos of those singles on a DVD PAL, 0. Also, although not part of the original release, this edition also includes Shep Pettibone's Disco Mix version of the 1987 Pet Shop Boys with Dusty Springfield hit 'What Have I Done To Deserve This?' (UK#2, US#2) on which Dusty was joint lead vocalist. This was the song to catapult Dusty back into the public eye and the charts for the first time in well over a decade. Packaged in a mini LP style sleeve, this special collector's edition is completed with a 32 page full color booklet containing extended sleeve notes that compile Dusty's own thoughts on the album and it's songs. Also included are exclusive insights from Dusty's close friend and backing singer Simon Bell and from Tris Penna who worked for EMI at the time of the album's original release and who had special responsibility for overseeing it.

Diese Scheibe lief, als sie 1990 heraus kam, in absolut jedem Etablissement und Schuppen, welche eine groovy feucht-fröhliche Atmosphäre haben wollte.
Wenn ich sie nach über 15 Jahren wieder höre, merke ich erst richtig, welches Juwel sie ist. Alle Titel sind locker beschwingt und -high voltage- electromässig arrangiert & in erstklassiger Tonqualität !
Dusty Springfield und ihre Crew haben hier alles gegeben.
Aber Vorsicht, echt Gänsehaut-Gefahr, all titels long !

...leider hatten die Pet Shop Boys nicht wirklich ein gutes Händchen bei dieser Produktion...zu sehr haben sie ihr eigenes Ding durchgezogen und leider keinen maßgeschneiderten Klangraum für die mittlerweile leicht brüchige und deshalb nicht weniger interessante Stimme der Popikone Dusty Springfield geschaffen...eigentlich schade...!

Habe mir gerade mal wieder das Album angehört... Selbst nach 14 Jahren klingt es noch großartig. Die Musik war perfekt arrangiert (und produziert) ohne steril und kalt zu wirken! Das zweite hat sie der unverwechselbaren Stimme von Mrs.Springfield zu verdanken. Zugegeben, manche Stücke passten nicht 100%ig zu Dusty, aber wen interessiert das, wenn die Musik einem doch ein positives Gefühl vermittelt?!! Dieses Album ist ein Klassiker. Zu schade, daß Dusty Springfield nicht mehr bei uns ist...!

Me llegó muy rápido por correos, pero claro, el DVD dañado justo en el centro, si hubiera sido la caja de cartón o algo doblado como en otras ocasiones no hubiera pasado nada, pero al estar dañado porque venía sin protecciones, he solicitado devolución. Por supuesto que ni que decir que DUSTY siempre un 10. El DVD no puedo ver la calidad ... en cuanto a el formato, me lo esperaba en caja de plástico y más glamuroso, pierde mucho en caja de cartón. De ahí las 2 estrellas, cuando me llegue la reposición, espero que en buen estado, actualizaré la opinión.

La riedizione di questo straordinario album comprende (quasi) tutto quello che Dusty ha pubblicato in quel periodo. Manca qualche remix, qualche versione strumentale, ma la selezione è comunque vasta ed eccellente. Imperdibili i videoclips con presentazione dell'artista. Prezzo molto buono, consegna rapida e accurata.

Okay, so this is the third time I've bought a CD version of this album … it was worth it to get the five videos (incidentally, the disc/track listing here is incorrect -- the first disk is the entire original album plus bonus remixes, incl. the "Disco Mix" of the Pet Shop Boys' "What Have I Done to Deserve This?" and the second disc consists of remixes and outtakes, some of which first appeared on the REPUTATION & RARITIES reissue. The third disc is a DVD containing five videos). Next, for this fan anyway, are two tracks worth the price of admission: the extended mixes of "Arrested by You" and *Daydreaming," a criminally overlooked foray into rap by Dusty, who proved once again that she could do anything. Remember, this was 1990, about the time hip-hop entered the mainstream and took over a dominant position on the pop, R&B and dance charts. Dusty was always on the cutting edge of pop music, even ahead of the curve at times. True, there were the "lost" years of the '70s and early '80s, but Dusty never really went away. Her underrated WHITE HEAT ALBUM from the early '80s came at a time when electronics were taking over the scene, and she quickly jumped on board. It still remains the most divisive album among her fans; I'm among its champions. But Dusty was never content to do what was expected of her. REPUTATION was a valiant attempt at a "comeback," and her loyal fans had orgasms over it. I certainly did. But, I think, because of her age, she was regarded as a "nostalgia" act. The pioneer that she was got lost amid the the "British Invsasion" and its attendant, male-dominated musical revolution, and people forgot that she was among its first wave of musicians to take American music and transform it on a world stage. This album, REPUTATION, was a gift from upon high for those of us who worshiped this voice, which was the epitome of fan obsession, a voice we said could "sing the Phone Book" and we would listen, something that could be claimed for only a handful of singers throughout pop music history. This is a wonderful gift to those Dusty fans who want everything she ever did. I cannot praise this release enough. Dusty is a Goddess, who belongs up there with the likes of Aretha Franklin, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Peggy Lee. There was no one like her and there never will be!
