SAN ANGELO — A San Angelo man has been arrested after a dispute involving a camper trailer led to shooting threats, according to an arrest affidavit released Friday.

On Oct. 18, 2021, Tom Green County Sheriff's deputies arrived at a convenience store in Grape Creek on U.S. Highway 87 for a reported aggravated assault. A couple told them they had gone to Stripes for a soda when a man pointed a gun at them, records state.

They knew the man as the former owner of a camper trailer they had purchased. The couple had prior problems with the man coming onto their property and trying to remove items from the trailer that he believed were his, according to the affidavit.

The couple approached the man, who was in his pickup, to warn him to stay off their property. He responded by pulling out a black revolver and threatening to shoot them in their heads, records state.

Investigators met with the man, who said the couple started to threaten him, so he pulled out a holstered realistic-looking Crossman SNR .357M .177 caliber pellet pistol and placed it in his lap. He also stated the couple had a .38 handgun, according to the affidavit.

During an Oct. 20 interview, the couple explained they had purchased the RV from the man's ex-girlfriend and he had items in there at the time. They had removed the items and he had picked them up, records state.
