      What to Know

      Critics Consensus

It's perfectly pleasant for sports buffs and Costner fans, but overall, Draft Day lives down to its title by relying too heavily on the sort of by-the-numbers storytelling that only a statistician could love.

Richard W I was somewhat engaged for most of the movie but the ending was very hard to decifer I'm sure you can find something better to watch Rated 0.5 out of 5 stars 04/12/24 Full Review Fred P I can't explain it but I love this movie! It's far from perfect but Costner is just damn good. Rated 4 out of 5 stars 04/03/24 Full Review Bronco 1 Pretty good movie about a sports general manager I found it very entertaining. Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/04/24 Full Review Miranda M A stoic general manager of the Cleveland Browns refuses to be a team player nor listen to the advice of any of his coworkers. But he stays true to his goal, silently without revealing any of his genius ideas to anyone, and he prevails and wins in the end. He even managed to impregnate a much younger coworker to the delight of his grieving mother. A seriously predictable and basic movie with a boring performance by Kevin Costner and a script that's worth the price of a used Samuel French play. Rated 1.5 out of 5 stars 12/21/23 Full Review Alex R Draft Day is such a interesting movie. Some of the shots and directed and edited in strange ways during phone call scenes. The story is kind of weird with its sub plots about Sonny's father and pregnant girlfriend, but when it focuses on the NFL draft, this movie is epic. The trading scene with Seattle at the end is actually one of the most badass scenes ever. Overall, a solid film that shows what some people are willing to do to change their life forever. Some kids in the draft are willing to lie, and others want to make their loved ones happy. A nice, lighthearted football movie is always great. 6/10 Rated 3 out of 5 stars 10/28/23 Full Review Sean i I'm an NFL fan and that was the dumbest movie ever. Rated: 4/5 Aug 20, 2022 Full Review Robert Sims Lights Camera Austin While Ivan Reitman's a master of comedy, he fails to bring the necessary sense of urgency to a ticking-tock drama that's already hurt by a predictable script that lacks the thoughtfulness of Moneyball.
