Doris Margaret “Marge” Young (Dwyer), of Farmington Hills, loving mother, grandmother and friend, was born into eternal life at home on Sunday morning, January 17, 2021. She was 90 years old.
Marge was born June 4, 1930, in Detroit, to the late John and Laura (Evans) Young. Sadly, she was preceded in death by two husbands, F. Robert “Bob” Dwyer and Hugh Robert “Bob” Young; a son, F. Robert (Kathy) Dwyer, Jr., and her sister, Patricia Martin.
Marge enjoyed a long career with Farmington Public Schools, initially as a beloved teacher’s aide at Gill School, then transitioning to the personnel department at Central Office until her retirement in 1989. Marge was active in various ministries in her church, Our Lady of Sorrows in Farmington, including the resurrection choir, wedding ministry, Martha ministry, as well as a sacristan and Eucharistic minister.
Surviving are her children, Therese Dwyer-Hebert, John (Lynn) Dwyer, Christine (Ed) Dwyer-Jaroszewicz, Timothy (Laura) Dwyer; step-children, Patrick Young, Michael Young and Cliff Young; grandchildren, Christopher (Susie) Dwyer, Michael (Carolina) Dwyer, Matthew Dwyer, Daniel (Addie) Dwyer, John Dwyer, Luc (Jacile) Hebert, Jessica Hebert, Melissa (Ian) Page, Jenny (Adam) Lambright, Shane (Kelly) Dwyer, Todd (Carmen) Dwyer and Abigail Jaroszewicz; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive guests at the funeral home on Thursday, January 21, from 2-8 pm, with a time of prayer and remembrances at 7 pm.
Marge’s funeral mass will be celebrated Friday morning, January 22nd, 10:00 am (in state 9:30 am) Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 23615 Power Rd., Farmington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes are kindly suggested to the Solanus Casey Center, Detroit, or the charity of one’s choice.
