Hungarian billionaire and liberal megadonor George Soros has been the go-to punching bag for the right-wing for the longest time. While there are several conspiracy theories surrounding him and his socio-economic efforts, not much is known about his children.

Soros is one of the most prolific Democrat donors, having donated huge sums to the campaigns of Presidents Clinton and Obama. Recently, he was accused of funding far-left efforts to overhaul the criminal justice system by granting millions to a network of "woke" prosecutors in local Democrat races. But as the controversial Hungarian-born Jewish investor enters his 90s, his five children — sons Alexander, Jonathan, Robert, Gregory, and daughter Andrea — appear to be making their own mark as they emerge from their father’s long shadow.

Born on October 27, 1985, Alexander Soros is the son of George Soros and the Deputy Chair of the Open Society Foundations, and one of the World Economic Forum's Young Global Leaders of 2018. He established himself as a philanthropist after donating massive sums to the Jewish Funds for Justice. In a 2011 profile in The Wall Street Journal, Alexander said his focus was on "progressive causes that might not have widespread support."

Meanwhile, Alexander takes after his father in donating to political causes as well. He donated  $200,000 to the Jewish Council for Education and Research in March 2012, thereby bankrolling 2008's "Great Schlep" in support of then-candidate Barack Obama. In 2012, he established the Alexander Soros Foundation, which is dedicated to promoting social justice and human rights. In 2017, Alexander was bestowed with the Gordon Parks Foundation Award for his philanthropic support of the Arts & Humanities.

Andrea Soros

(Open Society Foundation)

Born on June 11, 1965, Andrea Soros is the only daughter of Soros. She completed her primary studies before joining the University of New York for her further studies. She subsequently received her B.A. from the University of Chicago in literature and also graduated from the Bard Center for Environmental Policy. She is currently married to Eric Colombel, and the couple has founded an organization named the Trace Foundation dedicated to social justice and human rights.

Andrea, who is now a fund manager, is also named as one of the founders of the Open Society Foundation. In 2000, she co-founded another organization with her husband, named Tsadra Foundation, to support the activities of advanced students of Tibetan Buddhism in the West and preserve rare Tibetan Buddhist resources.

Born on September 10, 1970, Jonathan Tivadar Soros is the founder and chief executive officer of the private investment firm JS Capital Management LLC. He previously worked at Soros Fund Management as the co-deputy chairman of the organization. Jonathan has also been a significant donor to Democratic and progressive causes. He formed the Friends of Democracy PAC, now merged into Every Voice, in order to support campaign finance reform and the abolition of the electoral college. Jonathan married social worker Jennifer Allan in 1997. They first met while working for the 1992 Clinton-Gore presidential campaign and they have lived in a townhouse in Manhattan since 2000.

Born in 1963, Robert Daniel Soros is the eldest son of George Soros. After graduating in literature from New York University, Robert went on to found a network of foundations in Eastern Europe, most prominently the Central European University in Budapest. He married Melissa Robin Schiff in 1992 at the Temple Emanu-El in New York City.

In 2017, it emerged that Robert had stepped down as deputy chairman and president of Soros Fund Management. His father said in a statement at the time that Robert had "done an outstanding job in preparing [Soros Fund Management] for its next phase. I look forward to his continued involvement and wish him the greatest success in his personal ventures."

Gregory Soros

Born in 1988, Gregory Soros is the youngest son of billionaire George Soros with his second wife Susan Weber. While there is little information available about him, he's reportedly an artist. In 2013, Gregory briefly grabbed headlines when he sold a $12 million home in Manhattan — decked out with a rooftop basketball court — less than three years after he purchased it. However, unlike his father, Gregory prefers to stay out of the media spotlight.
