At the most basic level, men's rights are the legal rights that are granted to men. However, any issue that pertains to men's relationship to society is also a topic suitable for this subreddit. Men's rights are influenced by the way men are perceived by others. WARNING: Some other subs have bots that will ban you if you post or comment here.
We want fathers to have the right to see their kids after a divorce not to raid Londinium for plunder and enslave it’s inhabitants.
We don’t want to erase social progress we want more social progress.
Sounds more like a fishing expedition instead of actual research. But you know TWO YEARS worth of work.
Excuse you, 2000 years ago Londinium still wouldn't be founded for another 25 years. What, am I to believe you would raid an empty field? No, no I don't think so. Your entire point is moot based on this rounding error! I hope you've learned a valuable lesson here today.
You know what really bothers me about articles like this?
They haven't offered a single shred of evidence or proof of anything even remotely resembling "misogyny".
I'm guessing this is another "the worst aspects of TRP and incels define the entire MRM" hate-piece?
Umm, is that even true? That seems like a feminist myth. Surely there was a word for "rape" in some ancient cultures.
Holy shit, really? No word for rape?
This is interesting:
This has been interpreted to mean women were forced to marry their rapists.
Some biblical scholars would seem to disagree on this interpretation, because of the word choice in the original text:
This would appear to describe a statutory form of rape--sex without the consent of god (premarital sex) and the girl's parents, essentially. The "two kids sneaking up to the hayloft, and then dad loads his shotgun to force him to make an honest woman of her" scenario.
The violation referred to could as easily be a violation of her sexual purity and her reputation, not necessarily her consent--that is, he seduced her. Or she seduced him, and he failed to resist, leading to a violation of her reputation through the loss of her virginity (and therefore her marriage prospects).
This mirrors beautifully some of the issues in India right now. One investigator in Delhi said that about half the rape complaints that come across her desk involve consensual sex between unmarried people. Sometimes there was a promise of marriage but the man's parents refused to consent to the marriage. Sometimes there's no promise of marriage, but the woman ends up pregnant or she regrets the sex when the neighbors start gossiping, and she wants to coerce marriage from him. Sometimes her parents get wind of it and, against the woman's wishes, accuse the man of rape.
The majority of time with these cases, the complaint is resolved by the marriage of "rapist" and "rape victim" (which is the precise outcome the "victim" was after in the first place).
I would expect in the third scenario, when the woman's parents make the complaint, the guy will find himself out of luck (and stuck in prison) unless her parents consent to the marriage.
When I read about this, in a pro-feminist publication like the Guardian, no less, I thought to myself, how long before feminists in India point to all those court cases and stridently claim that "In India, women are so oppressed they're forced to marry their rapists!" Of course, this would completely reverse the context of most of these particular cases, where it is the woman who is coercing marriage, and the man who is forced to marry her if he wants to stay out of prison. But feminists have never been shy about telling the complete opposite of the truth.
I have got to know. Is there some great reddit editing tool that you use to link your citations or do you really just copy-pasta and hand format your references?
I want to imagine your bad ass rolodex of awesome links isn't some Notepad or Notes ever growing text file.
The links were on the website I cited, and got carried over with the C&P.
No, it wasn't.
The ancient cultures tended to have stricter gender roles for both men and women than present western society, and in some cases that produced issues for both men and women (different issues for each).
But as usual, feminists just ignore the hardships of men and look only at the hardships of women to create the fake narrative of women oppression.
Rape: Stuprum (Latin), unrihthæmed (old English),
this link gives 14 words for rape in Sanskrit with one specially meaning to rape a woman. Of course this means that rape was very common in ancient India, otherwise they wouldn't need 14 words for it.
This link says that in Anglo Saxon England, accused rapists, regardless of class had their genitals chopped off.
Feminist myth? Outright lie.
Think I found one of the possible brigaders LOL yes, I didn't expect someone like her to be trawling through subreddits to try and smear a group of people she clearly knew fuck all about in an extremely cowardly way. This actually explains a lot of the recent activity lately, I would not be surprised if a lot of the crap going on was in response to what journalists and feminist public figures are spamming about us in the media.
To anyone who is genuinely concerned about the way feminists are misrepresenting their views. This is standard practice, I think this is in response to them losing ( Or simply not winning outright depending on how you look at it ), they are desperate now, especially after the midterms.
As the OP's pointed out she and other feminists are absolutely desperate to criminalise criticism of feminism and they're lying that it's 'misogyny' in order to get support. If anyone has any doubts, notice how she raises 'anti-feminism' as her main concern and does not provide any actual cases of misogyny that has her so terrified. She's pissed off that these straight white men on the internet are daring to confront her and the sisterhood and that's all there is to it.
We all really are nothing but a bunch of unwashed peasants to these people, they hate us.
This paragraph for example, this is an absolute lie, they never ever provide links to the subreddits or sites to these places they're talking about, because if they did their narrative would fall apart immediately.
I don't recall ever having seen anything like this in r\mensrights, although a few posts pointed to some articles that referenced the ancient past.
It's their usual tactic of trying to blackmail people over guilt by association. MRAs sound perfectly reasonable and harmless by themselves so feminists like the idiot who wrote this article group them together with MTGOW, red pillers and incels in order to scare people away.
They know they're losing so they want to keep people away from MRAs especially so they can keep the money and activism flowing.
Guess who got her PHD in classics at Princeton?
Some folks refuse to feel guilty about wasting their parent’s money so they are often seen forcing square pegs into round holes.
I've been away, what "recent activity" and/or "crap" has been going on?
It was around the midterms, a bunch of brigaders came along to fuck with things. One particular thread popped up where someone was celebrating we had more subs than the Feminism subreddit and they absolutely spammed it. There were a couple of other posters who tried the same in some other threads but it was definitely a targeted attempt at brigading.
Haha, triggered! Thanks for the updater.
This article is complete nonsense.
The only thing of value to take away here is the media seems completely, wilfully blind to the possibility of misandry.
Now we know why Zuck is such a Cuck.
Like wow. I guess that feminist education was not wasted on her.
There's a shoutout to some reddit sub in there.
I can't imagine what she's bitter about. her brother is a billionaire, and she's got a PhD in boring.
Note near the end when she's asked whether she's ever held him accountable, considering she blames social media for giving a platform to Bad People and he's The Godfather of social media.
'I know why you have to ask that question but not going to answer it.'
Of course you're not. Righteous outrage is fine and dandy, but you still want your billionaire brother at your kid's' birthday parties.
Haven't read that version, but the version on the ABC comes pretty close to conflating the MRM with the Alt Right. It's the kind of dishonesty one has come to expect from liberals and feminists.
She is a liberal like her brother.
misogyny = violence
Red pill = more violence
Complains about feminists sayin men are criticising feminism on social media
Complains about feminism on social media
I for one would REALLY like to see The Honey Badger Brigade, along with Aydin Palidin dissect Mz. Zuckerberg's academic work.
PLEASE Alison, Karen, Hannah, et al., please take this apart. u/girlwriteswhat u/typhoonblue
Words like "me too"?
Meanwhile, in the real world, #killallmen is still trending on twitter. Dear women, we don't give a shit anymore. Have fun with your cats.

I'm sure they know that. They're lying deliberately as a smear tactic.
