By MONDEE TILLEY, The Mount Airy NewsOn the second day of Donna Fargo's visit to Mount Airy this year, she was interviewed on a local radio station in the morning and greeted fans in the afternoon.Fargo, a Mount Airy native who is best known for her song, “Happiest Girl in the Whole USA,” is an award-winning country music writer and singer. She returned to Mount Airy to lead this year's Fourth of July parade on Wednesday.Following the parade, Fargo met with more than 800 fans at the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History. She was scheduled to greet fans from 1 to 4 p.m., but stayed until everyone was seen -- which was until 6 p.m.On Thursday, she made an appearance at WPAQ radio station, which also houses WSYD 1300 AM radio.To read the rest of The Mount Airy News report, please click here.
