Even though the PlayStation 5 has been out for nearly a year now, it's still extremely difficult for consumers to get their hands on the next-generation console. Unfortunately, all signs point to PS5 shortages continuing for at least another year or two, and so fans may have to get creative if they want to secure a PS5 anytime soon. One way that interested consumers can make it easier for themselves to get a PS5 is by signing up for the GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro membership, which gives members first dibs on PS5 console bundles.

GameStop PowerUp Rewards Pro members will soon have their next shot at buying a PlayStation 5 console bundle for themselves, starting at 10:00am CT today. There will be three PS5 bundles available to purchase. The first costs $769.95 and comes with a PS5 Disc Edition console, a 12-month PlayStation Plus membership, a white DualSense controller, a black DualSense controllerSpider-Man: Miles Morales, and Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart. The second bundle is priced the same and comes with all of the same stuff, except it includes two white DualSense controllers instead of a black one.

The other bundle is a little cheaper, with GameStop selling it for $604.97. It includes a PS5 Digital Edition console, a white DualSense controller, a red DualSense controller, a $50 PlayStation Store gift card, a $20 GameStop gift card, and a 12-month PlayStation Plus membership.

For those who may not be familiar with the differences between the two versions of the PS5, power-wise, they are the same. They play the exact same games at the exact same performance. However, the key difference is that the PS5 Digital Edition does not have a disc drive. This obviously limits one's ability to use physical game discs, but beyond that, it also makes it so users can't play any physical PS4 games they happen to have lying around.

The PS5 is backward compatible with PS4, so nearly all physical PS4 games work with the new console. If someone has a library of PS4 games that mostly consists of digital titles, then it's not nearly as big of a deal, but those who have a sizable collection of PS4 games may want to consider forking over the extra cash for the PS5 Disc Edition so they can get the most out of their next-generation console.

In the meantime, GameStop will almost certainly have more opportunities for PowerUp Rewards Pro members to secure a PS5 for themselves. It's one of the easier ways to get a PS5, so it doesn't hurt for those interested to give it a shot.
