A:  It can be seen by humans and animals. It drives my dog crazy. I don’t know that it will “bother” your neighbors or not.

A:  It looks like it's the same Green and Red laser show you see everywhere during Christmas. Depending on the direction it's pointed, it may annoy your neighbors during non holiday seasons. It also looks like it has an adjustable opening in the front to limit its projection path. $200 is crazy though as it's likely the exact same as the Christmas ones for $30.

      by|Sep 27, 2019

A:  Yes the red and green laser is visible to the naked eye. The unit is adjustable in vertical and horizontal directions as well as there is an adjustable aperture that allows the beams to be narrowed to avoid disturbing the neighbors

Q:Does this work effectively during the day?

A:  After using it for one week I can say it does indeed work day and night.

A:  It might as it relys on flashes of direct light to startle the birds rather than the reflection on a surface.

        by|Sep 27, 2019

A:  Depends on the range. It projected very visible bright red and green dots to the underside of the roof of our porch at mid-day, a distance of 10 to 20 feet. The farther the distance, the less visible the dots will be. Whether the projected dots effectively deter birds is a different question. In our case it did not deter house sparrows from making nests on our porch roof beans.

A:  The outdoor unit will work just as effectively in the outdoor area during the day per our sales representative.

I have had the Bird-X Outdoor Laser Bird Deterrent on an area under our upper deck for over a month. Birds build a nest in one particular spot every year. At the time I set up the Bird-X Deterrent, the first sets of chicks had just left the nest and I hoped I could discourage a second nesting which always occurs. The birds paid the lasers no attention and renested as usual. Due to family illness I wasn’t able to get pictures of eggs or chicks in the nest as the second batch of chicks had already left the nest. The box says to us this product with other bird deterrents. I think I’ll just use the “other deterrents” and see how they work. This thing reminds me of one of those “Star Shine” light shows for your house as seen on TV. I was very disappointed that this Bird-X Deterrent didn’t work. Maybe we have blind birds.

This bird repeller has a metal housing that seems sturdy and can be tilted from horizontal to vertical and an multiple angles in between. It projects bright red and green moving dots and patterns onto whatever surface is within range. For years we have had problems with house sparrows setting up housekeeping among the roof beams or our front porch and leaving their messy droppings everywhere. Many times I have blocked access to the hollows and crevices where they build their nests, but they always seem to find new spots to make new nests. I thought that maybe this Bird-X Laser Bird Repeller would be the way to once-and-for-all solve the problem. I set it up on a table on the porch, projecting up towards the roof and beams where the birds perched and nested. Before turning it on I once again got out the ladder and blocked off the new nest spots. Then I turned on the repeller and stood back to watch. The repeller projected moving red and green dots and patterns on the underside of the roof and the beams where the birds perched and nested. As soon as I stepped away the birds were back. They were totally oblivious and not the least threatened by the repeller projections. Even when the projected dots and patterns were all around the birds and even on the birds themselves, they were unperturbed. Days later they were still coming to the porch, had already chosen new spost to make nests, and still not the least bothered by the repeller's moving dots and patterns. I'd have to score this bird repeller a complete failure for this kind of use. I do wonder if instead of the random moving dots and patterns in Christmas colors, the repeller projected moving silhouettes of hawks or other predators -- might it work better? Perhaps it might also work better in a different setting where the birds did not have the established attachment that they have to the nest sites. Later in the summer I will try it in our grape arbor and our corn crop where in past years we have had problems with damage from starlings.

Bird X Laser Bird Repeller. I got this to see if it would eliminate or at least help reduce the number of birds roosting in my tree as they make such a mess on the walk below. What you get is the laser unit, power adapter, mounting base, and remote with batteries. The laser unit is made of metal and is fairly heavy. It mounts on a metal disc that can be attached to any surface with 2 screws. It has both horizontal and vertical adjustment capability requiring only a Phillips screwdriver. It has an adjustable aperture that allows the beam to be narrowed as needed. I attached it to a plastic milk carton for portability as I have two areas where the birds are a problem. I cleaned the walk prior to putting this in service to be able to see how effective it is. The photos attached are: Bird X assembled and attached to a milk carton. The walk prior to cleaning (one week since last cleaning). Cleaned up just prior to the Bird X install. One week after Bird X install. After the first night the Bird X was in operation the walk was completely clear of droppings. The second day I encountered a problem with the operation of the timer function in unit. I contacted Bird X Tech support and it was determined that the problem may be a bad remote so a new one is being sent to me. After one week of use it is definitely working to keep the birds away. I see about a 90 - 95% reduction in the amount of droppings. Despite the minor operational issue with the timer function the unit does what it is supposed to and the Technical support has been first rate.

This is an extremely annoying display, I can understand birds not wanting to be in its field. I set it up in my back yard facing my shop and you have to wait till dark to see the display. The green become visible first and once it gets dark the red shows up. But it definitely bothers the birds. Cons no mounting hardware with the unit. And the power cord is light and at 10 feet makes placing the unit kind of limited. Pros made extremely well. Remote works well even from a distance.

            Bie-Bie Birdy
Tried many other options to remove sparrows and starlings nesting in trees adjacent to the main access of our office building. They were making a mess of the sidewalk and surrounding area. To be honest, I was doubtful since nothing else worked. The first evening after aiming the BX-laser-out into the trees, the birds were gone and have not returned. This must be enough of an irritant that they don't like it. This product is well built and performs great. The remote is a little edgy at times but none the less it works fantastic. Highly recommend!

This green laser repellent is easy to use and set up. It has a base that sits flat on the patio. The angle is easily adjustable. The aperture is easily adjustable to help zoom in on the affected areas and not annoy the neighbors. These lights are brighter and cover a larger area than the Christmas laser lights. The product is durable and sturdy. We have been using it for a few months and it has improved our bird problem by about 90-95% I would recommend.

The lights do not work. We literally had 5 geese sitting in the pond directly in front of the lights as if they were watching a light show. I bought 3 of them! $600.00 was expensive entertainment for the geese. Very disappointed.
