Casual upscale restaurant in a great atmosphere with amazing food & drinks family owned and operated.

When we set out to invent District 13 we wanted to combine casual comfort and a nice dining experience. We chose Sunbury because we love it here, it’s where we live. We never set out to be a fine dining establishment or have those expectations. We simply wanted a nice place that was engaging, inviting and good food that has a touch of downtown style with a country twist that’s made fresh. We did the same with our bar program by creating unique items and one of a kind cocktails.
We are being considered by most to be “upscale country casual” and thats fine by us. We have a warm rustic wood vibe with a contemporary outline that come together nicely with our comfort foods. We want you to feel warm, welcomed and at home when you stop in to see us. This was our goal and I hope we achieved it for you. We wish everyone well.

Made reservations a week early. They weren't prepared for it and got crappy seating. I'm high risk for Covid. Not many employees wore a mask. It was crowded. Not enough selection on menu. I didn't feel safe at all. I won't be back.

It was an amazing evening, out on the patio. The lamb lollipops are as fantastic as I remember. We had a party of 6, cocktails and beers were great, everyone enjoyed their entrees and dessert was excellent. The chorizo meatloaf is a huge portion and so flavorful. The shrimp scallopini was devine - and such a huge portion I took half home. Jassen is wonder and we cant wait to come again.

Terrible service, which is a shame because this place has such potential. Also - the workers need to understand masks should be worn on their faces, not their necks.

Really great find in Sunbury. Good is really good. Great cocktails. The brussel sprout and pretzel bite apps are a must. Both are fantastic. Live music Saturday was a little loud for dinner. But great music.

Dinner was amazing! We had the sharable crab special it was fantastic!. I ordered the lamb lollipops app for my dinner it was cooked well with lots of flavor. I ordered an aviation it was made to perfect!. My husband ordered the meatloaf said it tasted great and the mashed potatoes were phenomenal. We will back. The service was attentive and our food was piping hot!.

There were four of us celebrating my wife's birthday. The restaurant was very loud, thanks to the so called entertainment, that we could hardly talk with each other. The whole place was only about half full or less ( thanks to covid-19) but way too loud. The food left us wanting. We had spaghetti&meatballs, meatloaf, and chicken picata (sp). No one enjoyed their meal. The service was ok, not great. We will not return! P.S. We mentioned the birthday celebration.... nothing.

Waited 15 min to get waited on. Waitress said no one notified her. She didn’t offer to refill water or ask if we wanted dessert but our check was brought quickly. Limited menu. Over priced.

District 13 was a great place to eat. We live locally and we used to bank at this location before the owner purchased this building and transformed it into a restaurant. The food was great although the service was a little slow. This could have been in response to the state of emergency that was recently posted but it seemed as if they were a little short handed. Our recent visit was over three hours so keep this in mind if bringing small children. The buffalo chicken dip was awesome as well as the chefs special. We will most likely dine here again.

Cannabis dined and we were all very happy with our food. They were short on staff due to illness but our waiter turned it around nearly as well as you'd see in any restaurant. They are currently hiring and should be adequately staffed soon.

Really enjoyed our meal. Definitely get the lollipop lamb appetizer, the Tres Amigos dip, and the short ribs. Salmon with broccolini was very good (mashed potatoes were decent). Very friendly staff. Ambiance was nice, and good bourbon selection.

We were very disappointed in this restaurant. They are a "wanabe" restaurant. The food was OK, but not a good value. Crab cakes tasted like salmon patties. Hard asparagus and bland mashed potatoes. We will not go back.

Let me start by saying we love the place! We have now been twice, took family and friends this last time. The only minor complaint I have is that one member of our party received his main course approx 10-15 mins before the rest of us did. We told him to please go ahead and eat but he wanted to wait on us. We had several employees walk past and must have noticed because he was seated on the end, at the table next to the kitchen but no one said anything. On the whole, the experience was great...just wanted to let you know.

Our party of four had 2 good meals and 2 bad meals. The grouper sandwich was excellent, but the spaghetti was overcooked and the meatloaf was burned that were ordered by our friends. In spite of pointing out to the owner the food problems very politely, no adjustment was offered to the bills for our friends as one would have expected at a fine restaurant. To top off the insults, we were abruptly asked to leave to make room for other diners. It was not as if we had delayed much beyond the usual time it took to finish our meals. It was even more puzzling seeing as there were empty tables when they made this request. We were not being noisy or obnoxious in any way. In fact, our friends had told the owner we wanted to see him succeed.

Cute place. They still need to get the kinks out. Cold bread. Spaghetti squash with Portabella mushroom and vegetables . It was a small portion, veg was green beans, squash cold. My husband Pesto Chicken and cork screw pasta. Was large tasty dish but substituted bow tie pasta without saying anything. He was told that was what they sent him, don't know what that means. Not a great substitute for heart pasta.

Very quiet. Bartenders do most of the order taking. Very nice place and great decor. Honestly just not a fan of sitting at the table that’s connected to the bar next to where they fill up pop and put orders int he computer for other customers. No games on tv. Food was good.

My husband and I made a reservation for 5.30 a couple days in advance and requested the high table by the bar and we got there at 5. Place was completely empty except a few people at the bar. Lots of workers standing around hostess desk. We had requested a table by the bar - one of the high top tables instead we were told we were sitting in the small tables by the bar - again there were very little customers there and the table we wanted was empty but couldn’t sit there. So my husband and I walked out and headed to Ghostwriter in Johnstown. We have eaten at District 13 twice before this and really enjoyed the food and experience but lately the first thing you are asked “do you have a reservation” if you don’t then it seems to be an inconvenience and obviously if you do have a reservation and don’t like the table you are assigned then too bad!!

Best food I’ve had in a long time!! Started with the chips with queso, guac & salsa. We were literally licking the dishes clean. I ordered crab cakes with Brussel sprouts and my husband had the short ribs with roasted kale. Both came with mashed potatoes. We kept eating off of each other’s plates because it was all so delicious. My favorite part was my drink. I had the blueberry & winter sage margarita. I actually had 3 if that says anything about how good it was.

Food and service was amazing. Happy hour starters came out very fast and drinks were on point. As a long time resident, I cannot stress enough that Sunbury has needed this type of restaurant for a very long time.

no wait to be seated with the reservation restaurant was warm (temperature) nice live guitar music...not overpowering. Perfect amount of time between salad and dinner, not rushed at all. Staff was pleasant and friendly. Food was great - I had the duck and my husband the scallops.

We arrived an hour early for our reservation thinking we would sit at the bar and enjoy the music. The wait staff told us we didn’t need to wait that they could seat us in a few A++. The Valentines menu was great and I loved the specialty drink. We were often checked on which impressed my beau. We had a good time and the music and rose was a great touch.
