Lesley E This movie tends to get a lot of unnecessary hate, when it's actually not that bad. I think it might have been ahead of it's time for the audiences in 1994 (the thought of a man being a victim of sexual harrassment might have seemed too far-fetched for people in 1994, but from what we now know in 2024 - it's VERY much possible). Rated 3.5 out of 5 stars 02/27/24 Full Review The Kids N This movie is phenomenal. Idk what the hell most of these reviews are talking about. The writing is extremely smart, witty, and hilarious. It's such a great film on the political maneuvering that happens inside big companies and the lengths ppl will go to in order to get a promotion. This movie is about way more than just a falsely accused man of sexual harassment. The music is great. The acting is great. The cinematography is great. The reviews here don't add up. This is easily an 8.5/10 movie every day of the week. Rated 5 out of 5 stars 09/28/23 Full Review donnie m 2 stars for good actors but HORRIBLE writing and acting... so bad i had to change it and WHY does Michael Douglas always play the IDIOT that's so easily seduced and then acts surprised when he gets in trouble for it? Rated 2 out of 5 stars 09/27/23 Full Review Jack O Much like thrillers like Fatal Attraction and Basic Instinct, Michael Douglas appears in Disclosure along with Demi Moore. In this one, he's been accused of sexual harassment. I actually thought it was quite boring at first finding it to be not that thrilling and I find the film confusing but after re-watching it I actually find it to be okay, not bad, nothing special but hey, I had a good thrill and it's fun ever since. It sure has it's moments but I had a good watch. Rated 3 out of 5 stars 06/20/23 Full Review Matt P A friend asked me if this was in black and white, bantering with me when I said I'm only just watching it. Michael is a legend and I avoided his movies before but now he's right up there with the top actors. He did remarkably in this one. I think Demi really tried to go for it but sometimes she was a bit uncomfortable and unconvincing. She's a great body (past time ha) and they used that for the posters and cover. That's when you know they'll he issues with the story and the execution which there were. Such as the final third, picked up pace, female fatale got found out through michaels quick thinking but if not for him the annoying thing is like on so many real life occasions Demi character would have got away with it. Hated her character in this movie. All in all decent enough because some interesting ways they did this movie and I was routing for Michael. But, I still think a large portion of the audience would have preferred Demi. Can't think why… hmm. Gene Siskel Chicago Tribune Pure and simple trash masquerading as significance. Rated: 2/4 Apr 25, 2014 Full Review Kenneth Turan Los Angeles Times Its preoccupation with snazzy computer-generated special effects has left key plot points so unclear at least one baffled viewer had to retreat to the book to find out why some things happened and others did not. Apr 25, 2014 Full Review Terrence Rafferty New Yorker The presence of Douglas, who has made a career of being pursued by beautiful, dangerous women, turns this sexual-harassment thriller into instant camp. Apr 25, 2014 Full Review Elissa Suh Moviepudding Ultimately Disclosure is too contrived to be incendiary and not intellectually demanding enough to spark formidable discussion. Feb 16, 2023 Full Review Mal Vincent The Virginian-Pilot It's glossy and hokey, but it is also good storytelling. More importantly, within its aims, it's a lot of fun.
