About “TattleTales”

TattleTales is the sophomore studio album from 6ix9ine, released on September 4, 2020. It is the follow-up to his debut studio album, DUMMY BOY, which was released in November 2018, while he was in prison.

Though it was released independently, 6ix9ine was rumored to release his sophomore studio album through 10K Projects, but this didn’t happen. Rumors have circulated that he signed a $10 million deal with $10 thousand that included two rap studio albums: one in his primary language, English, and one in his secondary language, Spanish.

The album’s lead single, “GOOBA,” was released on May 8, 2020, his 24th birthday, along with its official music video. It is the first single from 6ix9ine since he was released early from prison on April 2 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. He has asthma, which would mean that he would be more susceptible to catching the virus. He was released and instead put on house arrest for the remaining four months of his prison sentence.

The second single, “TROLLZ,” with Nicki Minaj, was released on June 12, 2020, along with its official music video. It was going to be released on May 22, but was moved to May 29 since it was not ready. It was then moved from May 29 to June 5 due to scheduling conflicts. It was moved once again from June 5 to June 12 due to the death of George Floyd by police on May 25. On June 11, 6ix9ine confirmed in an Instagram post that it would be released on June 12, and that he would go live on Instagram with Nicki Minaj an hour before its release, along with new merchandise on his website.

The third single, “YAYA,” is a Latin record and was released on July 3, 2020, along with its official music video. The track was first mentioned on 6ix9ine’s Instagram story where he revealed the release date, later confirming the title as “YAYA” and previewing the song in an Instagram post on June 29.

The fourth and final single, “PUNANI,” was released on August 2, 2020, along with its official music video. This song was released on the date it was released to celebrate 6ix9ine’s freedom from house arrest, which ended on that date.
