Ruben Neves reacts to Wolves signing Diego Costa

Ruben Neves has revealed his excitement about playing with Diego Costa, with the striker building his fitness after signing for Wolves as a free agent.

Costa completed his shock move to Molineux after Sasa Kalajdzic was ruled out for the foreseeable future with an ACL injury.

The Austrian has undergone surgery and will now spend the coming months rehabilitating.

The huge injury blow forced Wolves to make a move for Costa, who had been unattached since January after terminating his contract at Atletico Mineiro.

Costa couldn’t face Manchester City on Saturday as he is still some way off being match fit.

Fans are hoping to see him against West Ham United in the first game after the international break.

We have seen some behind the scenes clips of Costa, and it is clear that he is a big character.

And Neves has revealed the Spain international has settled well.

He said (via Wolves official): “Everyone knows what he can give to the team. He’s very aggressive, he’s a really good striker, he can score and help the team defend as well.

“We are waiting for him to be fit and help the team as much as he can, because he’s a great player, a great person, he settled down really well here, so we are looking forward to seeing him on the pitch.”

Wolves desperately need Diego Costa to hit the ground running

Wolves have had a tough start to the new season and manager Bruno Lage is already under pressure.

The team have not been helped by injuries, and the lack of a focal point has stung for Wolves, who are currently the joint-lowest scorers in the league.

Wolves had to do something following the injury to Kalajdzic and Costa was arguably the best option given the circumstances.

Hopefully he can hit the ground running as soon as possible for Wanderers.

He is obviously no longer the player he was at Chelsea. But one thing he is guaranteed to bring is a competitive streak.
