‘My So-Called Life’ Cast Reunites Virtually After 26 Years
After 26 years, the cast of ABC’s mid-’90s cult drama series My So-Called Life (minus one) got together for a virtual reunion on Zoom.

“So…This happened the other night,” Wilson Cruz, who played Rickie Vasquez on the teen drama, wrote on Twitter with a photo of the cast. “Most of the #MySoCalledLife cast was available for what turned out to be a very comforting, sweet, heartfelt and overdue reunion. We all have such love for each other, even 26 years later. It was overwhelming to see all of those faces together.”

‘My So-Called Life’ 25 Years Later: Claire Danes and Wilson Cruz Look Back

‘My So-Called Life’ 25 Years Later: Claire Danes and Wilson Cruz Look Back
When “My So-Called Life” debuted in 1994, there weren’t many portraits of gay teenagers on television. But Wilson Cruz changed that with his depiction of Rickie, a proudly rebellious high school sophomore who was a key member of Angela Chase’s social circle. As a true confidant to Claire Danes’ Angela, Rickie was both a TV trendsetter and a wonderfully ordinary teen. And Cruz brought an Lgbtq character into living rooms before “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” or “Dawson’s Creek” did the same a few years later.

On a recent evening, Danes takes a break from shooting “Homeland” in Morocco to chat with Cruz for Variety’s Pride Issue. It feels like no time has passed between the two co-stars as Danes recalls one of her favorite episodes, set at an AIDS dance-a-thon. “I remember dancing with you to ‘Sweet Dreams,’” Danes tells Cruz. “That was a seminal moment of my life.

  • TooFab
Today was a big day for Claire Danes! The "Homeland" actress received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and she celebrated the honor with her "My So-Called Life" family. Bess Armstrong, who played Danes' mother on the show, posed for pictures at the event with the guest of honor, the show's creator, Winnie Holzman, and "Homeland" producer Alex Gansa. Watch the ceremony below: Claire, who looked stunning in a ruffled red tea-length dress, stood next to her TV mom as she spoke at the ceremony. "There's a small group of us here today that had the privilege and pleasure of knowing Claire at the very beginning of her career when we all worked together on 'My So-Called Life,'" Armstrong told the crowd. "She wasn't quite so glamorous back then. She wore sneakers and jeans and big baggy shirts, and she had this violently maroon hair. It

The TV shows that owe a debt to The Wonder Years

Now that it’s finally been released on DVD, we look at the TV shows that built on The Wonder Years’ foundations…

The Wonder Years, famous for being the show that made a generation of kids nostalgic for a decade they’d never even set foot in, finally arrived on DVD this month following the resolution of a years-long music rights tangle. Neal Marlens and Carol Black’s comedy drama ran for six seasons between 1988 and 1993 on ABC, following Fred Savage’s Kevin Arnold through his late-sixties and early-seventies suburban adolescence.

Thematically, stylistically, and tonally, The Wonder Years blazed a trail for television comedy and teen-focused drama that was subsequently traipsed down by numerous shows, from the superlative Freaks And Geeks and My So-Called Life to How I Met Your Mother, Malcolm In The Middle and countless others. Its innovative film-style use of a single-camera, lack of laughter track, fourth-wall breaking,

My So-Called Life: where are they now?

From Oscar-winning to Homeland and more, here's what the cast of My So-Called Life have been up to over the past 2 decades...

Twenty years has passed since we were first introduced to the characters of My So-Called Life, twenty years! Where has the time gone? And more importantly when did I get so old?

While most of you won’t really care too much what I’ve been up to since the show finished, let’s take a look at what the actors have been up to in the years since the cancellation of what is frankly the greatest teen TV drama ever.

Claire Danes (Angela Chase)

After breaking out in My So-Called Life, Danes focused on her film career first with a leading role in 1995’s Little Women and then supporting roles in smaller but interesting films like Home For The Holidays, How to Make An American Quilt and

Reunion Alert!

Reunion Alert!
A "My So-Called Life" reunion is finally happening ... but there's a catch.

Wilson Cruz (Rickie Vasquez), Devon Odessa (Sharon Cherski), Bess Armstrong (Patty Chase), Devon Gummersall (Brian Krakow) and creator Winnie Holzman will gather together at the second annual Atx Television Festival in Austin, Texas this June.

Sadly, stars Claire Danes (Angela Chase), Jared Leto (Jordan Catalano), A.J. Langer (Rayanne Graff), Tom Irwin (Graham Chase) and Lisa Wilhoit (Danielle Chase) are noticeably absent from the list of cast members who will be a part of the "My So-Called Life" reunion.

"We had an uphill battle and there were a lot of elements that led to its demise," Cruz

My So-Called Life lands on Hulu

Today I don't feel like Brian Krakow standing sad and alone in the street holding my bike. Nope, today it feels like the Internet is giving me a big warm hug thanks to the debut of My So-Called Life on Hulu. The site is now streaming every episode of ABC's pioneering but short-lived series about a teenage girl growing up in the '90s.

For the uninitiated, My So-Called Life stars Claire Danes as Angela Chase, a teen desperately searching for meaning in her life and balancing new friends, the wild Rayanne Graff (A.J. Langer) and gay 15-year-old Rickie Vasquez (Wilson Cruz), with old ones, nerdy Brian (Devon Gummersall) and cheerleader Sharon Cherski (Devon Odessa). The show also chronicles Angela's parents' (Bess Armstrong and Tom Irwin) rocky relationship and her obsession with the broody Jordan Catalano (Jared Leto).Continue reading My So-Called Life lands on Hulu
