The pictures of the frozen river (sea?) and the snowy landscapes in the beginning are worth a watch. With this the movie has a plus in my heart before even the first word has been spoken.
There is this trapper on his dog sled coming home to meet his people. For some reason he needs to go to the village "Happy camp" (what an absurd name!!!).
I didn´t understand the plot completely and I´m guessing this wasn´t my fault, the staging made me laugh out loud a few times (very bad it is actually but at least it´s pretty funny) and some of the clothes are just great also.
If you don´t take the movie seriously, have fun with uninteded humor and sense for beautiful nature recordings from the 1970s this is worth a watch. Only the carnage between the wolves and the sled dogs wasn´t really necessary in my opionion.
This Swedish adaptation of a Jack London novel is pretty violent(since the majority of London films were often aimed at children and their families),with Ron Ely (fresh from his TV Tarzan gig) as an outdoor hunter who's forced into a confrontation with various bad guys that take over the nearby town that he frequents. Director Harold Reinl does a splendid job at capturing both the snowy regions of the outdoors and displaying Ely in several fistfights and shootouts. Ely also disappear during the middle of the film,which helps establish many of the background characters and the villains(and their sinister plans) that populate this film. It's a decent Euro western that is truly worth watching.
