Trophy Eyes fan left paralyzed after band’s singer lands on her while stage diving



While performing a Buffalo, New York show on April 30th, Australian rock band Trophy Eyes’ singer John Floreani dove off the stage and directly onto 24-year-old Bird Piché’s head.

Initially fellow concert goers thought Piché had fainted and had gone to get her a cold rag. Upon discovering the seriousness of the situation, the concert was stopped and Floreani accompanied Piché in the ambulance ride to Erie County Medical Center, where she was rushed into surgery.

The incident has left Piché paralyzed and in the hospital indefinitely.

The band is receiving criticism online after a picture of their merch started making the rounds showcasing an online interaction with a concert goer who expressed safety concerns after attending one of their shows, only to be met with a “fuck you” from the band.



A gofundme with a 60K goal has been started to help Piché cover medical costs. Trophy Eyes has made a 5K donation.

Steve Buscemi assaulted by stranger in New York



“Steve Buscemi was assaulted in Mid-Town Manhattan, another victim of a random act of violence in the city,” Buscemi’s publicist said in a statement. “He is ok and appreciates everyone’s well wishes, though incredibly sad for everyone that this has happened to while also walking the streets of New York.”

The actor was taking a walk when a random stranger punched him. He suffered swelling to his face and left eye and was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment.

Deadline celebrates "20th Anniversary Of Greatest TV Season "



It's been 20 years since the "Greatest TV Season" according to Variety
"The 2004-05 season introduced several genre-defying series — all but one based on original ideas — whose impact on TV storytelling is still being felt"
The shows that debuted in 2004 were:
-Lost ("a sci-fi drama on a deserted island that set the tone for modern genre fare", its $12M pilot that cost the job of the man who authorized it, Lloyd Braun)
-Desperate Housewives ("a comedy-drama about murderous suburban moms")
-Grey’s Anatomy (the only one still airing, "a medical drama where romantic entanglements among doctors overshadow cases"),
-House M.D.("a medical drama with an antihero protagonist")
-The Office ("an office mocumentary breaking the fourth wall")
-Veronica Mars ("a teen noir mystery drama")

Noting that "broadcast networks will also likely never take chances on so many unconventional ideas", they highlight how lately most networks have been soliciting the development of mostly procedurals and multi-camera comedies ("cheaper to produce, easier to get into for casual viewers and have better repeatability")

Kevin Williamson and Vincenzo Natali on the Friday the 13th show



Kevin Williamson (Scream) and Vincenzo Natali (Cube, Splice) both commented on Bryan Fuller being dropped from the Friday the 13th series. Williamson revealed that he was set to have worked on an episode and Natali wrote that show would have been a “Hannibal-level reinvention” of the franchise.
