there has been no recent development on Death Parade season 2, and its release date remains unknown. Albeit, on a positive note, Madhouse didn't announce it is canceling the popular anime series either, so we can keep our hopes high.
Due to Death Parade's popularity, Madhouse announced a second season in 2016. Season 2 remains in development, and there have been many theories why season 2 has not released yet.
For one, Madhouse might be struggling with the lack of content for season 2. Unlike other anime series that's often based in books and manga, Death Parade is based only in a short film produced by Tachikawa.
While the plot details for season 2 remains unknown, Madhouse can always explore Decim's back story to build his character more. It's also interesting to see how Decim's behavior as an Arbiter will change following the emotional encounter with Chiyuki.
There's also the possibility of sending Chiyuki back to the afterlife once her newly incarnated life perish. If that happens, will she recognize Decim?

WHY DO YOU WANT A SECOND SEASON???!!? There are certain animes that are perfect and if you bring out another season, it will just make the anime worse. It's already perfect and it had shown us everything it could have. It's just like Parasyte. You don't need another season. When an anime is perfect already with a perfect ending, you shouldn't need to bring another season. The same thing happened with Psycho Pass. There was no need for more seasons, look how bad it became. Be happy that season 1 happened instead of wanting even more. I hope they never release a second season. Death Parade was a masterpiece and it had an amazing end. Idc if the fans want more, it will just ruin the beauty of the anime.
While I think it was amazing and I don’t think I’d want a second season myself, I don’t necessarily think they showed us everything. The conflict that was setup between Nona and Oculus didn’t feel resolved, and the way she was talking to Quin and the other Info girl at the end sounded like there was definitely more to the plot line to be explored.
Disagree. Pretty sure there's whole lot of stuff surrounding the Flowerhead, Nona's experiments on arbiters and how chiyuki's story goes from there that remain unexplained. And there could be many more interesting stories built around the dead souls and their memories. It should have gone on atleast till 4 or 5 seasons.
Chiyuki goes to heaven. That's what happens. Her story ends right there. No more explanation needed. Nona's experiment was Decim and he turned out to be the perfect arbiter after spending time with Chiyuki and understanding human nature. There could have been some stuff explaining flowerhead but it wasn't important at all. They gave a perfect ending. Chiyuki's story ended there. What more did you want to know about her? Her backstory was told, it was her time to go to heaven and that's where she went. End of story. If they dragged the anime, Chiyuki wouldn't have been there anymore and the story couldn't have gone better, it would only go down. Someone like Chiyuki appearing again won't make sense since Decim has already had Chiyuki once.

I don't get that type of argument. If anyone thinks having a continuation will ruin the thing, don't watch the continuation then?
There are many TV series, like The Walking Dead, and animes that I just stopped watching, because I felt like the quality worsened. But I don't think having a continuation ruined it, how a thing that I didn't even watch can ruin something good that I have already watched, doesn't even make sense.
Parasyte is based off the manga. So bad example. They couldnt continue even if they wanted to
as someone has already said, there is no need for a season 2. the story was told in 12 episodes and honestly at this point a s2 would seem like milking it.

Damn after all this time. Oh well the season 1 was beautiful. We should be used to these 1 season masterpieces now im glad every studio isnt trying the one peice approach when a series gets popular!
