The Deadpool film series was unique for bringing R-rated superhero films to mainstream cinema. The second instalment, Deadpool 2, while similar to its predecessor, proved to have its own unique features, such as its film score.

Composer Tyler Bates recently appeared on Disney Music's For Scores Podcast and discussed the soundtrack for 2018's Deadpool 2. During the conversation, it was revealed that Bates "has the privilege of having the first film score album ever to receive a parental advisory warning." The composer joked, "Well, that's my Oscar."

The album was labeled "Parental Advisory: Explicit Content" since the score for Fox's film contained pieces such as "You Can't Stop this Mother F*****," "Make the Whole World our B****," "Pity D***" and "Courage Mother F*****."

Deadpool 2 centers on Wade Wilson, who loses Vanessa to thugs hired by a target Wilson failed to assassinate. The Merc with the Mouth turns to Colossus and the X-Men in an attempt to do right by his lost girlfriend and become a better person. After mishandling a conflict at a mutant re-education center, Wade is thrust between a young mutant named Firefist and Cable, the time-traveling mutant out for revenge.

A third instalment is currently in the works at Marvel Studios. Further details have not yet been announced.
