Panthers and Knights Tie on Wednesday Night

Each team scored twice in the third period

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The D3 Hockey team was back in action on Wednesday, taking on a Calvin University team they were initially supposed to play the weekend prior, before the Knights had to postpone due to COVID protocol.
 
In a rather chippy affair, neither team could take advantage of their momentum, and the game ended with a somber tie.

The Knights came out buzzing in the opening 20 minutes, outshooting DU by a 19-4 margin. However, Barrett Rosser stood tall, stopping every shot he faced en route to a 58-save performance.
 
The Panthers struck first late in the frame, as Chance Bradley scored his fourth of the season, on the power play, and DU led by one after the first period.
 
Calvin answered back with a goal from Ethan Tulp, sending the contest tied into the third period. The game would remain tied after Kevin Crawley and John Lizyness each scored for Davenport, while Zachary Seaman and Keigan Oberski scored for the Knights.
 
Despite both teams getting chances in overtime, neither team was able to net the winner, and the game ended in a 3-3 tie.
 
WHO'S NEXT?
 
DU travels down to Fort Wayne for two more games against Indiana Tech. The Panthers will look to build of their weekend sweep from last weekend, with game one of round two at the SportOne/Parkview Icehouse on Friday.
