David Siegel Obituary

David Adam Siegel, age 39, beloved son of Jan and Ron Siegel, loving brother of Jaclyn Siegel, dear nephew of Sue Nadel, Marvin (Rachel) Siegel and Steven (Nancy) Siegel, devoted grandson of the late Roy and the late Carol Nadel, and the late William and the late Dorothy Siegel, fond cousin of Ross (Lauren) Siegel and Adam (Samantha) Siegel. David was blessed with many wonderful friends from Glenbrook North High School and Kalamazoo College. David bravely fought the challenges of cancer for 16 months. He embraced his life as a journey traveling internationally as an artist, writer, teacher, coach, volleyball player, and a co-leader of International Study Abroad Programs for college students. To celebrate David's life, his family has established the David A. Siegel Memorial Scholarship Fund. This annual grant seeks to award Glenbrook North High School art students the opportunity to further their education and personal journey in the world of art. Contributions may be made to the David A. Siegel Memorial Scholarship Fund website: https://www.gofundme.com/david-a-siegel. The service and shiva were private. The family prefers contact through the website or by email. Arrangements by Chicago Jewish Funerals - Skokie Chapel, 847.229.8822, www.cjfinfo.com.

Memories and Condolences
for David Siegel

Not sure what to say?

Dear Jan, Ron and Jaclyn,
I was just told this morning about David´s passing. I was so very sad to hear about him. I have such sweet and happy memories of him mostly as a young boy when he was friends with Ari. I called Ari and he was also was so very sad to hear about David.
Ari is a Rabbi living in Israel and would like to have someone say Kaddish for him for the remainder of the time.
If you would want this please give me his Hebrew name and yours and Ron´s.
May his memory always be for a blessing. Again I am so sorry for your unimaginable loss.
Beth Fenton.

I want to extend my heartfelt condolences. Along with that, I would like to share a memory. David was our youngest daughter's volleyball coach at Glenbrook North High School. He was warm, caring, and oh so knowledgeable. We shared a love of volleyball and English, and I recall many wonderful conversations we had about those two topics. He was an extraordinary person, and I often told Sarah how fortunate she was to have him as a coach.
