Emma Stone's husband is a force in the entertainment industry. Dave McCary was born in San Diego, California in 1985. While attending the University of Southern California, McCary lived with his childhood friend and aspiring comic Kyle Mooney, who would go on to appear on Saturday Night Live from 2013-2022. Emma Stone and Dave McCary secretly wed amid COVID-19, according to People, whose source confirmed the nuptials in September 2020. Not much is still known about the couple's private wedding, except that it occurred less than a year from when McCary proposed with an atypical engagement ring.

During a December 2023 appearance on the SmartLess podcast, Stone revealed a brand new tidbit about her wedding—but it wasn't positive! She told hosts Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett that she suffered an unfortunate injury right before the big day. "The week that I got married, I did open a refrigerator and the handle broke off and I got a black eye," she said, adding, "And that's where it stops."
