Radical West Asheville bookstore plans move to another Haywood Road spot

WEST ASHEVILLE, N.C. (WLOS) — A well-known book store in West Asheville is relocating.

Firestorm Books and Coffee, a self-described radical bookstore in West Asheville, announced it has purchased the former site of Dr. Dave's Automotive on Haywood Road.

The collectively-owned book store and community event space on Haywood Road is known for its social movement-oriented book selection.

Firestorm is looking to the community for help converting the auto repair shop into a bookstore.

Renovations will include an outdoor patio, off-street parking and a private meeting room.

Firestorm said it plans to move into the new space next year.
