Question about codes

I feel like I don't pay attention enough and miss the codes but part of the problem is I don't know where to look for to find them. Is this supposed to be normal or i need to just play normally and i will find them

You're likely to find the codes yourself, as long as you put some effort into finding them. Sometimes they're written on notes, other times they're tied to some sort o' puzzle.

Tho if you're still havin' trouble finding 'em. About 8 months back I made a list containing all o' the codes found in Darkwood, including the random ones. If you wanna cheese it, here's that list:

Prologue:

4892 is the code used on the room where a man is locked up inside "My Cottage"

Chapter 1:

• Dry Meadow

**** is the code of the Indiegogo container at the Dry Meadow Hideout (i'm not going to tell you what it is tho, it's a secret. I refuse to give anyone the code)

The door code at The Wedding is randomized and can only be obtained via receiving the wedding invitation during the invitation night event

• Silent Forest

3333 is the code used on the two metal doors at the Entrance to the Silent Forest

Wolfman's crate codes are random and can only be opened via looking through the gamefiles or by brute forcing them. They can be found at Wolfman's Silent Forest camp

The pig obsessed madman's crate code is also randomized. This one, however, can be found written on two notes located at the Madman's Barn and the Pig Shed

• Old Woods

The code at The Church Ruins used on the hatch leading to The Church Basement is randomized and will only be available after doing the Church Dream Sequence

8459 is the code used for the container under the rug at The Doctor's house , it contains a toy rocket, a map containing the location of The Trainwreck and:

The code to the Trainwreck, is another randomly generated code that can be found at the container under the rug at The Doctor's house.

Chapter 2:

1245 is the code used on the metal door at The Old Shed nearby The Swamp Cottage

1975 is the code to a crate inside of Mushroom Granny's cottage found at The Mushroom Glade

2531 is the code used by a crate residing in The Swamp Village

8684 is the code used by a metal door at The Radio Tower leading to The Radio Tower Bunker

The codes get saved into your notebook or the story item menu, so if you're not sure if you have the code to something just scroll through that. Also just keep looting and exploring and things will work out :)
